Ive had a look and found some advice, there is a thread on the Octavia section which looks like it could be same as we need to do, I also asked Skoda if I needed to replace the bolts but they said not, unlike some early VAG cars the inner wheel arch liner cover the two top bolts so that will need removing, so it looks like a case of putting the car on a axle stand, wheel off, supporting the bottom of the suspension arm with a jack, after the inner wheel arch liner is removed undoing the bottom shock bolt, 21mm spanner needed, undoing the top two fixing bolt from the top mounting bracket and remove the shock, you will then need a 16mm offset spanner to remove the top mounting bracket off the shock to then remove the bump stop, refitting is quite literally the reverse, only thing I am going to do is to use a touch of thread lock on the bolts as im under the impression the only reason they recommend new bolts is because they come with it already on.

Another few things advised is too use the right torque settings but for the life of me I don't know how you get into the bottom bolt with a torque wrench as the suspension spring is in the way so that might have to be done up to FT ( the only torque settings I could find were on the Octavia thread)

Another tip was to do everything up when the car was back on the ground and the suspension isn't hanging, I can see the reasoning for this but don't know how it would be possible as the wheel is in the way and there isnt much room to get under the car and I bet when Skoda have it on a ramp they don't go to this trouble!

I was think of measuring the distance from the top of the wheel arch to the centre of the wheel and then when I need to do things up using the jack holding the bottom suspension arm to jack it up to the same measurement so the in theory the suspension will be in the same position as if it was on the ground on its wheel.

The main reason I'm doing this my self is I got quoted £150 from Skoda to do when I could get a Sachs bump stop set for £30 delivered, only other thing I have had to buy is a offset spanner set at the eye watering price of £8 delivered!

Hope this helps.
