Hi all.  Octavia 1.6TDI new owner and general newbie.  I took SWMBO off for a 1000 kilometre tour in our new Octy,  having checked the oil level on taking delivery (full to the upper mark).   Had a wonderful trip, neither of us can praise the seats enough, we'll call it The Flying Armchair.  A most enjoyable car to drive.  On returning home the oil level has dropped a little, to be expected in a brand new diesel.  New level is about three-quarters on the marked dipstick.-  I shall keep an eye and top up when needed, but a word to all new owners...keep an eye on the oil level!!
