After umming and ahhing for approx 6 months I have finally taken the plunge and last week I picked up my 8 month old, 54 plate 1.9 Tdi 130 PD Superb Elegance. It's the old spec, no sat nav but has an electric sunroof, however it already had the full leather option (black). The car itself is Titan Grey. I mulled over all the options and all the engines. It's my first Diesel as I prefer petrols but the range spec forced me into it. I needed folding seats which seemed to mean an 05 car which consequently pushed the 2.5 out of my price range with it being so new, this is the Diesel I would have preferred. I wanted top spec so out went the 1.8T. I had this engine in my Octy Elegance and loved it. I just couldn't see me affording to run the 2.8, which I could have done if I could have bought an older model at a bargain price but I needed those damned folding seats! So it was the 1.9 Tdi. The car goes really well but that Diesel clatter is going to take some getting used to - mind you, I repeated a journey yesterday that I made in the Octy last week and instead of averaging 34mpg I got 53mpg!! That clatter is getting more bearable by the mile I can tell you. I do want to increase its ooomph though. Any advice?
