Hi all

Would appreciate some guidance.

Had an issue on the motorway today - driving at 70 and traction light illuminated. Stopped, turned car off and on - light went off and continued my journey.

A few miles later, engine begins to judder on acceleration - a few moments later the EML illuminates followed by traction control light. Pull ovet again, off and on, all lights off and continue without issues.

EML turns on a few miles down the road without any noticeable power loss - get to work and ask for DTCs to be read - following is found

P0201 - injector circuit open cylinder one.

On my way home, EML illuminated and car noticeably slower - but still enough power to maintain 70.

Am concerned it is another issue (perhaps camshaft) disguised as injector issue.

Can anyone advise?

Am considering chopping the Skoda in but its been a loyal mile-eater to date.

There were points where engine would judder quite violently under acceleration - turning the car off and on seemed to correct this although EML remained illuminated.

The fact its not happening all of the time, i.e. The fault appears resettable by cycling the ignition, it could be a bad connection and normal vibration of the engine is making/breaking it.

First thing id check is the black circular connector on the right hand side of the rocker cover. There is a little red locking tab. Flick it out and spray some contact cleaner on the Mating surface of the connectors.

It may help. If not then id look at taking the cam cover off and checking the loom/replacing it and checking the injectors

Am buying a used loom off Steve - will replace and see what happens.
