Fabia MPI superceeded

Featured Replies

So taking a cruise around in my wifes fabia earlier this week, shes got a 12 plate fabia 1.4 mpi, and i kept thinking to myself how great a drive it was, am i right in thinking the only reason VAG stopped using these engines was because they have been replaced by the later TSI?

I am guessing that is the case and possibly due to the lower emissions that the tsi has to offer, but cant get over how refined the mpi feels.

Maybe its because i drive a 3 pot tdi :D

Anything is more refined than the 3 pot diesel...

the one thing I dislike with the current line up of engines in the fabia range is 3 engines all 1.2TSi but 3 different power ratings and 3 different prices for the same engine just different maps

I am not sure I wouldn't feel cheated paying more the higher spec engine which is the same as the less expensive one except the map

The current 1.2 TSI engines in the New fabia are the choice of 90 or 110ps

i saw a review of the 1.2 tsi in the new fabia, from what i gathered its definately more of a 'city-esk' car and not really built for motorways, the engine is reportedly very loud above 60/65mph, i would be interested to try one nevertheless

I think youre confusing that review with the 1.0 mpi which is again a 3 potter.

Probably :)

They made it a What Car Car of the Year, because they liked a particular engine, and the rest of them and the car was just basically OK

by this Video.

& that is a Employee of What Car.
