Skoda fabia 54 plate 1.4 TDi pd AMF engine. I have owned this car for about a month and all has been fine but rcently when im stopping at traffic light or roundabouts and wait. when i go to select 1st (sometimes not all the time) it wont go into 1st so i put back in neutral and try again and it slips in fine. With reverse it is nearly all the time :S.

Any ideas???

Would probably start with resetting the gear linkages, fairly simple and cheap to rule out

 

Videos can be found on youtube and the likes, but make sure you follow a guide for the 5 speed and not 6 speed box
