Different sized tyres.

Featured Replies

So I have just got my hands on a new set of alloys for my octy.

The problem is the tyre are different sized. 2 of them are 225/45/17 while the other 2 are 215/45/17

Would it be a bad idea to run the 225's up front with the 215's at the back untill i get new tyres for the rear? (2 weeks tops)

These are the wheels i have got.

Wider tyres should be on the rear, & IIRC 45 profile is wrong for an Octavia so your speedo will be a bit out.

225/45/17 is perfect for octavia

Octavia vrs originally came with 205/50/17 tyres but 225/45/17 work out pretty much the same size in the end

Plus they are cheaper, plus they are wider and look better

Win win

It will be no issue running 215/45/17 and 225/45/17 aslong as they are the same on each axle

Id opt with the 215's up front and 225's on the rear until you get new tyres

Thanks, il give it a go see if i have any issues. Time to go paint the calipers.

what are the alloy specs ?

i am too having a look at a similar 17's for my mk1 octy but i think 8j width with 38mm offset is a problem.

is it the case ??
