Hi,

 

I have been looking at my options for when my PCP deal comes to an end next year.  Like a few people here having children that are growing up fast I decided I need a little more space.  It’s getting difficult to fit scooters, bikes, toys and football gear in the back of the Fabia.

 

I have been shopping around for a while doing test drives but I decided to go with the Octavia VRS 220 TSI.  I couldn’t find anything out there that gives as much space and value for the money.  Same as the pic..

 

Sticking with grey and already looking at a few mods.  Eibach Pro Kit already ordered like the Fabia for me it just sits a little high.

 

It won’t be here until February next year so at least I will have a few good months with the Fabia in the wet, wind and possibly snow to have fun with.  I have to say is has been one of the best cars I have owned and for me is up there with old Fiesta RS turbo I had years ago for fun.

 

Choosing another Skoda also give me a good reason to stick around this site and forum and hopefully join you for more days like the Santa Pod get together.

Did you get a good trade in on the Fabia? Was there much equity at the end of the PCP deal?

I did test drive the diesel but it wasn't  for me. 

 

Trade in for the Fabia was rubbish to be honest.  2013 19k, FSH and was given 7.5k.  I went to 4 different dealers and what I did notice they don't even look at your car anymore and not one of them asked for my keys. They just type your details into a system and give you a value.  

 

All 4 dealers gave me the same value and don't take into account condition or any extras you may have.  I bet when they sell it on they up the value due to the extras like bluetooth, climate control and parking sensors.

 

The deal with the Octavia gave me £1000 Skoda contribution and £500 dealer which covered the most of negative equity in the car but still had to put 1k in for the deal but I am ok with that.

 

 

 

They did say I could try and sell in privately which would give me a little more.

If you are getting near the end of the PCP it might be worth waiting until the end if you can and simply hand in back. Other option is to ring VW financial services and find out where you are in relation to the cars VT point? VT'ing (if you have paid half of the total amount owing) is a great way of wiping out the negative equity situation so you are free to start again and therefore get the full discount etc on your new car rather than using that to pay off the old neg equity. :-)
