Undertrays (I know)

Featured Replies

Ok,

So the undertray didn't like the speed bump (and yes going really slowly) it's the left hand (drivers side) one that helps cover the belts.

I got the undertray kit off ebay, and its GRP rather than the more flexible plastic that VAG use.

Now I can't work out how it fits since it's so hard (as in not flexible) I don't have any wiggle room for it.

It could just be I am not seeing it (can't see the wood for the trees type thing) but has anyone got any pics I can look at to confirm which way it goes and will give it another go in the rain.

Cheers

I don't have any pics and no longer have a skoda. However the dog leg points to the back, flat side on the outside, slide it up towards 2 threaded studs that come down of a strengthening beam roughly behind the top of the wheel. Line up all your holes and away you go. What Octavia is it? If you have a turbo and it's an eBay tray you may have to cut a small section out at the back to accommodate the charge pipe. Hope that helps

Yeah is a vRS and I do think it needs trimming, I can't get it up onto the 2 threaded studs at all (at the moment anyway) and as for the "pancake" bit, not a chance.

Oh and how are you meant to bolt the centre bit together, no holes line up to anything!

I had to offer one up to the best fit from the rear lip of the bumper and onto the existing centre and drill a few new holes. You may find with a section cut out for the charge pipe it will go up onto the studs, I assume you've found where they are? It will take a bit of jiggling and slotting but it should at least fit to allow you to see which holes line up and where you need to drill new ones.

Various things in the way making it very entertaining.

Will have to go see a garage and see if I can get it up on ramps.

Wheel off and Jack it up should give plenty of room.

Will have to wait another week as I am going away with work.
