Camshaft sensor

Featured Replies

So anyway, gets to work ok this morning. Parks the car up to wait for a parking space.

Three minutes later, a car moves so I go to turn the car on, mmmmm not starting !!!

Ffs

Its not the battery, tried jumping off another car, ffs, mmmm what next ???

Ah AA thank you.

Yes we'll be there in half an hour, woohooo !!

A very nice man arrived, tried it and yes it starts !! Ffs !!!

Thankfully, or not, it stalls and doesn't restart !! Ffs.

Computer reader out, P3007 code, Camshaft sensor !! Ffs.

The very nice man removed said sensor and its all taped up ???? Ffs

Why is it all taped up ??? Anyway he took me with the old taped up sensor cable to Skodaland, after they said they had a 2nd one, woohoo.

Gets there and the one showed it about a foot n half long. The one from my car is about 3 foot long !!! Ffs.

Thus why its been taped up, cos whoever had it before must have got the foot n half long one and extended it !! Ffs.

So no go !! Ffs.

Rings Skoda dealer, yes we can order one and it'll be tomoz morning, £120 !!! Ffs. Mmmmm good job I'd rung TPS and they wud have one tomoz morning but for £33 plus vat !!!

That's a 200% mark up !! Ffs.

I think with the engine cooling down (???) the car managed to start up with the old cable and the very nice man followed me home.

So fantastic day and then to collect and fit the new one tomoz !! Ffs lol.

And breathe :crying:

Anything else to double check or shud that fix it we think ????
