Rattle from back seats

Featured Replies

My Superb has develped a rattle which appears to be coming from the rear seat area - possibly near where the rear seat belt connectors disappear into the seat squab.

When I go around a corner, or weave left and right (for testing purposes only :) ) the rattle happens. It sounds like a ballbearing clonking back and forth against something. It's quite loud and very annoying.

I've had my wife drive the car while I crouch in the back trying to locate the rattle, but the only result I got was that after 5 minutes I had the urge to throw up!

Has anyone else experienced this and located the problem?

Cheers,

Rob

No experience of this in my Superb but a friend had a similar problem in his car of the noise of a 'ballbearing' rattling around. Solved after 3 weeks of being driven mad. Solution: lifted the boot's floor cover and discovered a large nut had escaped from his tool box and had found its way into the spare wheel well and was clunking around on corners. Might be worth having a look.;)

Funny you should mention that, I had one of my bulbs fall out of my spare bulb kit in the spare wheel well and that drove me nuts for ages!!

Check under the boot carpet as westerdam2 has said.
