brand new Kodiaq spring release sound when foot-off gas pedal

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I'd like to share a problem for the brand new Kodiaq 1.5TSI DSG (2019, total distance 100km) that I bought a week ago. When the car is on move and accelerating at low speed and when I release the gas pedal, I hear a resonating sound whose sound amplitide is decreasing gradually for 1-2 second. A sound is like bouncing spring then finally disappear within 1-2 seconds. I attached the video I have recorded this morning when the motor is cold however I have encountered the sound the the motor temp is around 90degC too. Sound sometimes disappear completely, but appearent when there are high deceleration forces ( on 1st and 2nd gear and starts when I left the gas pedal that is the start of deceleration phase )

below is the youtube link for your review, the sound is appearent in the video at t=2, 12, 21, 48nd seconds.

Thank you all for the comments.

Welcome to Briskoda, where are you located, your profile doesn't show us which country you are from.

There is clearly a fault, it is not normal. Given how new the car is you should return it to the Skoda dealer as soon as possible for them to diagnose and fix.

Please share with us what they tell you.

Hi Silver1011,

I will return the car to the service to get them diagnose the problem. It is annoying to hear that noise although you can bearly hear it. Will keep the forum updated.

Yes, it must be annoying to have a fault on such a new car.

Hopefully it is something as simple as a replacement accelerator pedal.

I think I can hear the noise on your video, but it us hard to tell.
