Octavia Mk2 DSQ200 Auto DSG Gearbox

Featured Replies

Hi,  My Mk2 Skoda has been in and out of the dealers workshop for  a jumpy gearbox.  After software updates and now a new clutch pack @ 36,000 miles the problem continues.  It had the recall oil change when 6 months old.   My question is....has anybody tried to take Skoda to the small claims court and if so was it successful.

Your issue now is with the repairer. They took your money after doing the work.

People have tried getting to court with a claim against VW but VW claim they do not make the DQ200's even though they and Skoda do, so they use the fact a separate company.

No Class Actions in Europe, but individuals have had them pay up with Expert Reports are being prepared to go to court to have them defend themselves and have to reveal the numbers of failures.

People got new DQ200's out of the Warranty Period of 3 years in the UK while the going was good.

Solicitors letters in Scotland, Experts Reports and prepared to go public with the reports but prepared to sign confidentiality agreements.

Same thing happened with engines like 1.4 TSI Twinchargers.

But that has passed now with time and you are on your own.

?

When was your car built that it needed the Synthetic Oil changed to Mineral when they had already started a World Wide Recall by 2012 and changed the oil used at the factories?

By 2014 there was service campaign '34F7' o DQ200's from 2009-2012,

& in 2017 Service Campaign '34H5' on some from 2013-2015.  A software update needed after that chang in the Factory oil.

Thank you @e-Roottoot .     I collected that car today from the dealer.  I used my right under warranty for a recheck (based on the Clutch pack that they put in at my expenses €1250. 4 months ago)  I got the standard brush off...."cant find any problem"  drive it for a week and let us know how you get on.   Have a sneaky suspicion that they reflashed the software... but cannot prove it.   The small claims court in Ireland are much more reasonable ...... and pleading "we did not manufacture the Gearbox" will not cut mustard.

I seen something on this site about air leaks in an inlet hose pipe as a prime suspect and I will follow that up as well.  Thank you for taking the time to answer....most appreciated.

When you say "jumpy", what do you mean exactly?

When cold you can inteittently get a thump as it goes up the gears

Hmmm. Strange. What's it like if you press hard on the throttle and let off quickly in M mode? Just thinking if it's likes an engine mount or something.
