Chipboost Re-map complete

Featured Replies

James from Chipboost completed the remap today

he ran a diagnostic check through OBD port before and after to make sure everything was ok.

then we removed the ecu from its housing and plugged it into the laptop

the original settings were downloaded and written to a disc for future use if required and the new map was uploaded.

then simply a case of putting the ecu back run diagnostic check and then going for a drive.

The power is now near enough 200BHP up from 160 and from to 350nm to 400NM (295lb/ft) of torque (as much as my mitsi 320 BHP 3000GT had !!!)

This has yet to be confirmed on a rolling road!

So far so good the car is alot quicker off the line and there is now loads of power after 3000rpm whereas before, after 3000 it pretty much died off....

Will let you know more on how it feels when i take it on motorway tom to work....

I think so far it seems reasonable for

Glad you are happy

How you finding the map so far?

What type of warrenty comes with the map if you start to encounter any problems?

Do you live anywhere near the South Yorkshire area, as I'd like to to see how a V6 TDi handles after its been done?

cheers

So far so good happy with it

no specific warranty its just a case of making sure your engine is healthy and taking it to a sfe level.

Although if there are aby probs james will put back on your original map for free.

I live in West Yorks - Leeds

Would it possible to meet up and get a feel for the power difference between stock (mine) and your remapped?

I live in Barnsley BTW, so im only 30 mins car drive away?

Will the fact that 3000GT's is a Tiptronic mask some of the difference? IIRC from his earlier posts, the remap was going to be a little more conservative because of the auto box.

Would still be interesting to hear how you get on though.

All the Best

Chris

I'll see what I can do, but if the weather is fine, SWMBO will have me doing chores  . Im not too fusses to drive it, altough I am 3rd party any car with owners permission. I just want to feel what its like when "clogged" a little. :D
