How to turn on the auxilary heater the easiest way.

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have a Octavia plug-in hybrid. Im trying to fugure out how to turn on the auxilary heater. I dont want to use the car battery, I want to use the petrol engine. And I dont find any option in the app that says "turn on heater for 30 min". If I understand right, I first have to create a departure plan, and the turn on an option that allows the car to use the auxilary heater. But it still says that the car will use the optimum function, meaning, it can choose to only use the battery. Can someone please help me? Is there an easier way? IF its an webasto heater, can I use the webasto-app instead?

I think it will only let you use AUX heater while the car is plugged in or by the batteries only. You can tell it not to use the batteries so guess it will only work while plugged in.

I don’t think it’ll let you use the ICE because you’ll be leaving an unattended engine running and that’s not allowed in the UK

I'll borrow this topic a bit.

If an iV model has an empty battery. How does it warm up the cabin when starting the car, in cars with or without webasto?

Does it just wait for the ICE to create enough heat or does it still try to get juice from the batteries and use the PTC element?

Or does it automatically start using webasto? Can i disable webasto for only manual use?

Mostly i'll be using webasto to preheat the car if not connected to a power source.
