Unable to connect to MySkoda or Skoda Connect: can anyone help?

Featured Replies

Before the new control unit was fitted, I had no problem in connecting MySkoda to an iPad and an Android 'phone. Since the new control unit was fitted and coded, which enabled me to save favourites in the SatNav, I've been unable to connect the app. I've tried a number of times, as has the service manager here at home, without success. I have entered the VIN number into the Skoda Connect site, then when prompted to register I then go to the car and follow all the instructions, including e-mail, password and the other required details. It then says 'loading settings' then 'be patient' followed by a long wait for nothing to happen. What is strange is that I'm shown in silhouettte as a user, with my first name and first letter of the surname, but there is a padlock icon alongside. I've been asked to take the car in to the dealer as they have a strong wi-fi signal, but I'm puzzled as it worked before and there must be communication to be part-way there. The SOS button has a green light and the white globe is there. The app is very useful as I can set the charging times from inside the house and switch on the aicon if needed.  The car is now so nearly perfect, so can anyone suggest a solution?  Thanks, Jim.

I haven’t come across this in a car before, but from general IT glitches over the years, perhaps try one or more of…

- create a new user of a different name in the car & online

- Delete your user account in the car and start again

- delete your user account online and start again

- delete the app from iPad & phone, restart devices and reinstall the app

Thanks sneal i've done all these.

Could it be that your user account is registered as the primary user of the car with the old control unit, which is then preventing the new control unit from completing the authorisation/connection. Perhaps get the dealer to de-register the primary user (if not already done)
