Show Room Test Car

Featured Replies

Hi,

Would like to seek the opinions on this offer:

Was offered a car show room, 2004 manufactured Skoda Superb that was used as a "Test" car for potential buyers. The mileage on the car is about 450km.

The discount is about $1700 pound from the new 2005 list price. On top of that it comes with leather seats and factory installed rims.

Warranty is the same as the new cars.

Is it a offer worth considering?

Thanks

Don't think this is the greatest of bargains. The car is 2 years old, presumably having been first registered in 2004. To a certain extent the low mileage is irrelevant.

If you don't have a trade in, or if the trade in price is low, it would be a case of 'Thanks, but no thanks' as far as I was concerned

The car wasn't registered and it'll be considered newly registered with the local authorities though. Thanks

In Asia, mate. Sorry about listing in KM, it is about 279 miles mate.

Apologies, I assumed you were in the UK where the deal would not be a huge bargain IMHO.

Do new cars sell at discount prices where you are? Can you negotiate say 5 or 10% off the list price where the dealer is keen to sell? If so, it might be worthwhile working out what percentage the $1700 is when compared to the current list price where you are and act accordingly.

westerdam2,

Thanks for your assistance and prompt reply.

Yes in this part of Asia, you have to bargain hard to get the price you want. Sometime they may not want to sell you the car if their profit margin is not there.

The discount is about 8~9% of the new car list price.

Thanks again.
