Superb 1.4tsi iv dsg service

Featured Replies

Took my superb for a dsg service mechanic who is hybrid trained didn’t want to touch it. Said getting the oil out is no problem but filling would be a nightmare hidden below lots of electrical stuff. Anyone else had problems

Maybe best in the Superb section. a Mod might put your post there.

How many miles has your car done, is it over 40,000 miles ?

?

Any reason you are not having a Skoda Dealership do it, have you asked if they are going to charge more than £220.?

Moved to Superb.

Is this a main dealer mechanic?

Unlikely even one who is familiar pr trained on working with VW DSG's.

It’s not a main dealer I booked in with Skoda but the wait is ridiculous mid December over 40000 so just wanted it done asap

Best find a Hybrid qualified tech / mechanic that is also a DSG trained one with all the gear and more than ideas.

Maybe a VW Indepewndent, or a EV specialist with an auto specialist mate.

Filling is far from a nightmare on the DQ400/E gearboxes. Its no different to a normal 6spd DQ250 gearbox in terms of filling, electronically it differs massively. So maybe they dont have the correct tools, ODIS or maybe the ability or knowledge?

If its any good to you I can carry the DSG service out, update the online service history and I am also hybrid/electric vehicle level 3 trained (not that it would matter as youre not working on the HV side)

EDIT: Filling only becomes a pain in the ass and involves touching the HV side of things when you have replaced the mechatronics unit.
