*Urgent help*Oil in spark plug engine misfiring

Featured Replies

Good afternoon all, I’m new to the forum and been searching for some help and advice.

I currently have a Skoda Octavia 2011

1.6 petrol. mileage 87,000

Recently the car has been engine misfiring, RAC breakdown have checked the car and said cylinder 4 has mis firing.
The spark plug had oil inside. He cleaned it and said it’s a temporary fix.

Where is the leak coming from and what would need to be changed. Please if anyone can help would be much appreciated.

I have read online and Valve Steam Seal seems to cause blue smoke/a lot of smoke from the exhaust. Currently the car has no issues with any smoke.

so I’m hoping it’s something else that’s an easy fix.

That is generally but not always true. You may have caught the stem seal failure at an early stage. It requires more investigation than I can do in text. Go to a good local garage or VAG specialist, not a Skoda main stealer.
