Starting Problem: battery?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I have a 2017 L&K 220 with 54k on the clock. This morning it wouldn't start or even turn over. It didn't release the steering lock and the brake pedal was solid. I got error messages saying the Collision Alert System and Cornering Lights were faulty, then one that said the 12v battery was low and to drive the car to charge it (thanks for that🙄). After a few minutes of me looking stupidly at it, and trying again several times, including locking and unlocking the car, it started. All the error messages disappeared. I drive to my appointment and afterwards it started, albeit a bit hesitantly.

Any thoughts? Could the battery be on the way out?

Thanks!

My battery (2016) went from generally ok to dead as a door nail in a matter of minutes so don't rule it out. It lit up like Blackpool illuminations and then I couldn't even lock the door whilst waiting for the recovery company.

Yes it was the battery. It was only holding 10 volts.
