The service light won't reset using the press the trip method ,also the aircon won't blow out of the face vents despite recalibrating (might be another fault I guess) so Im thinking I'll need to reset the service light with a diagnostic tool Which one though? I should add I've never used one .

Depends on how you often you feel you will use it.

If it's here and there looks at OBDEleven you can pick them up on offer regularly, you can read VAG codes, do adaptions and code in items like the battery.

If you're going to use it a lot or are looking to do a lot of adaptions look at Vag Com (VCDS).

I have an OBDEleven, I highly recommend it as you can easily leave it in the car so if you ever have a problem on the road you can get an immediate indication of what it is, plus it's a lot cheaper.

OBD11 does the job.

VCDS is overkill for OP, along with ODIS or whatever else.

I don't have a laptop which I believe the Vagcom set up needs so uts looking like an OBD Eleven or similar

Hi again..Just looking at the OBD Eleven range, do I need the subscription and cards to use it? Bit confused.

Basic OBDEleven, then buy the very cheap credits for things like Battery or fuel filter.
