Warning lights - Vag com

Featured Replies

Hello there,

I've got a 2003 skoda superb.

I've not been using my car enough in the last month, I had 1 week without using it .

Yesterday I turned on the car and I got some very "serious fault".

First the springy like light came on (from the preheaters) then the ABS/ESP light turned on, The rear brake lights dont work unless you start pressing/depressing the brake pedal, etc. The trip computer says "Engine Failure, please go to workshop" or something like that.

It turns out I had only the preheater problem earlier in the life of the car, but it only had some burned out lights.

I called a friend and he brought his VAG-COM, And There are LOT'S of errors.

I'm asking here because I trust more on the knowledge of this forum than in my dealer, wich are really inconpetent.

I'm located in the caribbean, and it rains, we have wam days , cold days, etc. But no snow.

The car is always well maintained, and I do the maintenance every 10,000kms (6,000 miles). The car is only 15,000 miles right now.

The log from the VAG-Com is this:

Had most of the codes sorted out, except that V71 flap motor problem.

To sort out the codes it was very easy, the original installed battery in the car was a VARTA that was suppossed to be maintenance free, well it wasnt when you rip off the top of the battery there are 8 filling points, the battery was lacking water and was drained. Solution I bought a new motorcraft battery, the largest size they had. It was fitted with little mod's, cleared the codes and voila the car is running great...

Cept that this error persist

it only shows itself when you turn the climatronic on, and From what i've read about it it's very common in passats and it's not an EASY fix:mad: . It's the flap motor and you have to take out most of the panels of the car.

my friend put 000 or somethign like that in the v71 channel and it hasnt happend again at least for today...

Since nobody replied I hope that at least if this happpends to anyone now they have an answer.
