just wondering whether anyone has any idea about re coding the keys as my dear wife has lost her only key for her car

i used vag com but i can't seem to get the immo code up

the dealer can't book me if for 6 weeks to do it so i am looking for other options

does it have to be dealer or is there 3rd party companies that can do this type of thing if i am unsucessful in my attempts

Its easy enough to do if you have the four pin code. (if your really lucky it may still be printed on the side of the immobilizer control unit)

i still got the problem

if i try and login on vag com thru no25 immo up comes a vag number component number soft coding and a work shop code

i login type in the skc hit do it

it sits for about a second and in the warning space (top right hand corner)

i get login lost due to dropped session

and thats it nothing happens

as far as i can work out i'm running immo type1 which is in the cluster a guy on cupra net says it s a separate box above the fuse but i can't see it

On a 98 MY it will be a seperate white box with a plug on it.

Where did you get the security code from?

i gave the dealer the code which came up in vag com and the chassis numberand £15

IMMO vwz3z0w0****** v68 code was like this

one other thing in noticed there's no warning light as the key in the car type thing but vagcom throws up a fault code on engineVAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

No there isnt an immobilizer light.

Its deffo not seeing the key then, is there a transponder in the key?

ahhh now we are talking the key is the original main key swmbo has been using the the spare since we got the car 1st day we had it the main key stopped working and i had to drop the spare down to her about 2 hrs after getting said car. Chucked the main key in the draw in the kitchen and it's been there ever since.

when i opened it the other day when the keys were lost there was no treansponder in there so how it ever started when we bought it i don't now

dealer gave me a trnsponder out of an old key they had lying around the workshop.After they had ordered me a key from seat uk which turned up and was the wrong cut and the wrong transponder type (glass one)

i have ordered a philips type from hickley valtone getting it in the morning as dealer one could be fubar'd

here's the latest got transponder still would not match

So i gave up and rang a locksmith he said yeah no problem

he could not code the key his AD100 machine gave the acess denied message

so he sent me to pontypridd with immobiliser to a bloke to read the code from it

the bloke gives me the same code as i got from the dealer wonderful!!!!

So the car is at present sat down my in laws house with the key in the ignition trying to unlock the immobiliser i am apparently locked out of

so i have gained **** all from the few days work.

It could be the control unit isnt reading the key. Possbily faulty reader coil or control unit.
