My friend has a 1.9 TDI Octavia. It is remapped by Jabba and, on several different rollers, is pushing near enough 200.

is the "drivability" ok - I tend to wonder why, if its that simple, the manufacturers don't do this when the build the cars... surely there must be some payback for "free" bhp?

I gather that it is very driveable with no real downsides - if you drive normally you get better economy (if you hoof it it can be real bad, his record is 11mpg for a full tank ). I suppose the downside is that components wear out quicker :( He had to replace his clutch at 107,000 miles, his suspension at the same time, he also needed to change his suspension bushes at 128,000 miles. :(

makes me wonder what they may do with a vRs diesel then.... could be very scary. All I really want is a bit more overtake power for getting safely past stuff on the country lanes around here... my other car is a 911 and I sometimes get confused which one I'm driving with embarrassing results, so I'd not be using the poke all the time, as i have the 911 for being really silly in.

Jabba took our old 110 bhp 1.9 tdi to 164 bhp & 393 N/m torque

The car is incredibly driveable & is actually better on mpg than before the map.

Ive met tavias friend & his car was the later 130 prior to the remap. Having tried to keep up in a 250 bhp Octavia I can confirm its an incredidly quick car & I would say the claim of 200 bhp is more than fair, the extra torque a Diesel has probably gave it the edge over the Petrol Octy, bhp isnt everything

have a chat with Jabba & mention Briskoda as they normally have group buys on or some discount floating around, you will also have change out of your £500, you might also find AMD price dosent include VAT

Incidentally the Vrs Diesel has a Diesel particle filter which catches all the soot & burns it off, this makes remaps unknown territory at the moment so I think you might just have got lucky with your purchase
