Washers

Featured Replies

Having had my superb for a few weeks now i am finding that i am filling the washer bottle up quite a lot.

My car is the elegance model and i just wondered if this could be due to having the headlight washers.

Does anyone else find that they are using quite a bit of water and is there car the same spec.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Mine does too - I find that using short pulls on the wash lever stops the headlights getting drenched every time. Of course, if the lights are off then they don't get blasted.

The problem I had last week was that the windscreen jets froze whereas the headlight jets didn't. Anyone know if the windscreen jets are meant to be heated?

Yeah on some models they are heated depends on spec and age.

Also depends on screenwash used and its concentration of course.

I don't have headlamp washers (Comfort) but still I need to fill the washers quite frequently. Compared to my previous cars, I find the Superb sprays a very generous amount of water onto the windscreen - although this does mean the windscreen cleans very well

One thing to watch for - is water leaking from the area of the bottle and dripping (running) onto the floor? Within 12 months of new my washer pipe rubbed on some part of the bodywork and leaked. In 2-3 days it would empty whether I used any water or not !

The Superb is fitted with a 5.5 litre washer bottle and this is more than enough for most people but granted if you have headlamp wash then it will obviously go down quickly.

I also agree that the spread of water out of the washer jets is generous however this is a VAG system so should be no noticable difference if you have moved to a Skoda from VW, Audi or Seat.
