Anyone use an infant car seat in their Superb??

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone else in the Soup Club has put an infant car seat in the rear of theirs.

In my case I'm a little disappointed as the seat belt either locks or tenses and in all cases seems to be too short???

Anyone else experienced a slightly short seat belt. Its not a major problem but is a bit of a squeeze. SWMBO wont put it in the Superb, yet the rear belts on our Octy II go round the car seat a treat.

Can you buy belt extensions or anything similar...but safe obviously?

Thankyou. Paul;)

Unfortunately, not all car seats fit all cars. The car seat must fit the car you plan to use it in or it is not safe. You might just have to buy a second seat, or take the car seat to the place where you bought it and ask them to fit it for you. Sorry if that's a little rantish but it is my professional opinion...:)

I use a child seat in my superb and don't have any problems. Our 7 year old granddaughter sits in the seat and uses the seat belt the same as we do, but our smaller grandchildren have the seat belt fed through the child seat and use the straps that are attached to the child seat. HTH Paul.

Hi, I use Britax car seat in mine due to my Octavia seat belts suffering from possible buckle crunch, when i got my Superb they fitted straight in. On the Britax web site they have a page that tell you if you can use certain seats in certain cars mostly due to buckle crunch, worth checking because not all cars take car seats safely as I found out, I also recommend you get Sunshine Kids In Car Grip-it Mat from halfords to go under your seats, its amazing how much damage can be done to the seats from a car seat being constantly strapped in place, these dont totally illiminate the problem but make hell of a difference!

Many thanks for the link Hayley..but it doesnt list Skoda:(

However the shop we originally bought the travel system from said it fitted both our Octavia and Superb.

It seems to be just a belt issue??

Its a removable carry seat that slots into a buggy as opposed to a fixed seat of which I have fitted for my daughter

Oops, sorry...:o didn't check that.

If the place you bought it from said it would fit, then I would take it back to them and ask them to fit it for you :)

its pointless sending it back to the shop to fit it because it sounds like the sort of seat you take in and out on a daily basis so you just have to work it out by yourself, if your seat belt locks up all the time try pulling it all out at once then fit it . I use a britax newborn seat and a mothercare child seat which i recommend because fitting is very easy on the superb

Yes, but if they can show you once, you will know how to do it in the future :)

Supposedly I'm trained on fitting child seats lol. I just used to use brute force to get them as tight as poss :)

The best ones are those isofix ones, but you need a car with isofix bars
