Hi all,

with the newly acquired Superb 1.8T, having owned a Toledo, i thot that i would be able to program the following like the Toledo, but the agent was not able to do so via the VAG- Tool.

does anyone know if there is a possibility to set the following for our superbs?

1) to have the dash/ internal lights all the time (not only when the headlights are on)

2) to have the horn beep when you unlock/lock the doors

3) to use the horn as the alarm

as i had all the above for my SEAT Toledo, i was surprised that the Superb was not able to have them, does anyone have any idea how to set the Superb for these?

thanks, guys

I am afraid that I know little about this but I would be really interested to hear if you can sort out number 1) as my girlfriends A3 has this feature and IMO it's great.

I have the alarm that bleeps when you unlock / lock the doors but not the horn?

the Toledo i had as the interior and probably the settings from the A3. The red dash and interior light is on all the time and it is great when entering tunnels or carparks cos everything is already lit in a nice red light

my superb comes with immobilizer but no alarm. My toledo i had previously also didn;t have an alarm, but used the horn instead as an alarm and also to beep the unlock/lock function.

i can't seem to use the Maxidot to do any settings.... it doesn't seem available...

If You Have No Alarm It Must Be Switched Off. Ask A Dealer To Check The Settings For You. There Are Numerous, Including An Anti-robbery One That Locks The DoOrs At 10mph. They Usually Don't Charge For These Sort Of Things Especially If they Think That They'll Be Servicing The Car. Let Us Know How You Go With The Dash Lighting Though It Can Be Awkward

i have the classic trim with 1.8T engine.

dealer said it has no alarm....

hmm..

i did change it to autolock at 15km/h (this they could do) but the alarm system, the lighting and the beep for unlock/lock seemed to have them stumped.

is there a VAG-Tool instructions somewhere? my dealer seems to be stumped where settings are concerned.....all trial and error...sigh...

Its really easy to check if your car has an alarm, set if off and see if it makes a noise.

Wind down the drivers window, set the 'alarm' let it set and slide your hand in and pop the bonnet.
