Best value brembo discs?

Featured Replies

Anyone know the best value place to get oem brembo discs from, and perhaps whether it's worth going for anything tarty like cross drilled / grooved ones? I think my current front disks might be warped as I get noticeable steering wheel wobble when applying the brakes, which goes away the further I push the pedal. I also get a slight wobble under acceleration (that goes away when just cruising), which I'm not sure can be related to warped discs? The wheels are newly balanced so it cannot be that.

Any help appreciated.

I wouldn't bother with cross-drilled as they're prone to warping (they crack around the holes), but I would get grooved..... You might find that a few hard stops will "unwarp" your current discs depending on if they are properly warped or just covered in debris. :D

GSF

GSF do them cheap with the screw in the kit.

GSF catalogue doesn't list the LCR in their list of seats for front discs. However, them having "BREMBO" plastered all over the braking section gives me confidence. Have emailed them. Good thing is the 10% discount for being a freedom member.

just got my g60 corrado brembos for my felicia big brake convertion.

from GSF for under £50,,,,,, deal

I forgot to emphasise that this is for the proper brembo brakes as fitted to the Leon Cupra R - 323mm. Best so far seems to be £188 for EBC discs, which care a perfect match and seem to be well favoured by LCR drivers over on cupranet.

I run the EBC disc Jase and am more than happy with them :D

Its incredibly unlikely your discs are warped, go out & do a few really hard stops to get the crap off of them

Ive put this up a few times & Im guessing you might already have read it StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades

Forget drilled discs, modern pad materials produce less Gas therefore drilled holes are obsolete, they also lead to cracking on well used discs & by reducing the amount of metal in the disc they run hotter (less material to absorb & disipate the heat)

Grooved discs are sufficent to deal with the small amount of Gas given off by modern pads, If you are worried about noise from discs when driving slowly I have found straight cut grooves give a slight rumble but curved grooves are silent

Try Ian Godney at Godspeed for a price, say Stuart with the Skoda recomended him.Welcome To Godspeed Motorsport

£188 is awesome J, when i got new discs they were only available from seat and cost about £115 each!!

just looked on GSF and they only list 256 and 280 or something so a way off the 323mm needed.

Well, for now I'm presuming it's the bushes causing the wheel wobble so once I've got those fitted I'll re-assess the need for discs. Sooner not spend £200 right now.... :)

On mine it was a ****ed cv joint causing the wheel wobble.

Just on acceleration, or on braking as well?

J

I fitted a 312 conversion a few months ago and i was getting rumbling and wheel wobble during braking. After replacing both outer cv joints this issue has now gone:)
