Any ideas on price range for 4 Octy alloys?

Featured Replies

Hope someone here can point me in the right direction? I'll soon be looking to sell 4 Octavia 1.8T Elegance 16" alloys without tyres (nearly down to the legal mark so scrapping them) and I was wondering what sort of price I could expect to get and what to expect in the way of offers? They are in very good nick with no dings or kerbing and I'll obviously be giving them a good clean.

Cheers all :thumbup:

I'd say about 50% of the cost new would be a fair price if they are in good condition.

No idea what the cost new is these days mind.

Cheers Cheeze :rofl: Anyone know how much they are new?

i got 100 for my old 16" elegance alloys with tyres about 4mm, were in pretty decent nic though, that was through ebay

if you can, keep them, then you can put them back on your car when you sell it

Cheers mate,

I would if I had a money tree in the back garden, but all I've got growing there at the moment is mould on my brothers 1977 VW Polo.

I think I've managed to get a set of 17" Spiders with 2 good tyres (2 need replacing soon) so combined cost of all those, plus what I can get for the 16s, is hopefully about the same as 4 new tyres fully fitted on the 16s, which is what I needed doing. My maths ain't great so I might have messed this up, but I worked out:

* 4 17" Spiders = £200 incl 2 good tyres + 2 tyres down to 3mm, so maybe good for a bit? + £30 courier costs = £230

* 2 new tyres = £100 (Federals) + £50 to fit the 2 new tyres, fit the 4 wheels, balance and tracking, and take the rubberless tyres off the 16s = £150

* sell the 16s for …?????

4 new tyres for the 16s = £240 to fit and balance etc

The whole set of 16s tyres needed replacing and I wanted the 17" wheels anyway so I thought this was a way round it. Maybe I should hang on to them?

What would everyone else do? :confused:

I recently spent some time searching Ebay for some alloys for mine as I only had steel. Typically, wheels with no/knackered tyres were around the £100-£120 mark some of the genuine VW ones went for more with good tyres. There were no genuine Skoda ones at the time. I paid £100 for a set in very good condition in the end.
