Today I am doing a solid flywheel conversion to my octavia 1.9 tdi, i was wondering if anyone would benefit from a step by step photographed pictorial guide?

I can photo every step and title each move, cars may vary of course but they will all work on similar principles of course.
May help someone who isnt confident yet to take the plunge.

If this post meets with a few responses ill put an article together, it may already have been done, or may not be needed, but thought id ask anyway.

Cheers Carl

It all helps people doing the work themselves, so go for it :)

My deepest and profound apologies, for what seems to be and empty gesture. I have done the work but the camera met its maker when it had a tussle with a heavy duty flywheel.  The job wasnt really difficult, just time consuming, my friend and myself, working together timed from driving on the ramp, to out of workshop 4hours 36 minutes, and that was with one or two hold ups aswell.

Sorry for false hoping anyone but FYI on an SMF from valeo::::: Very very smooth, even changed tick over to smoother, much more quiet too. All vibrations are gone, and im positive she starts quicker too. Highly recommend.

I am doing my dads citroen clutch in a couple weeks so shall photograph that one and do tutorial if that helps the principles are the same.

I've had a solid flywheel in my octy II and I must say its money we'll spent, much more response and when the clutch does go you haven't got too huge a bill! Although my lower rear engine mount bush had to be replaced, possibly from more torque been transferred maybe? There's a Powerflex one on there now and it has done 210 k so mustn't grumble. Thumbs up over here
