  1. Update on the steering... When I accelerate (most noticeable in 1st/2nd gear) the car wants to go to the left, I can feel the steering wheel pushing against me but when I lift off the power to go to change gear the steering becomes light again, making me swerve to the right a bit. Not sure what this could be related to? Tracking, Power Steering, something else??? Also still no luck with the locks :(
  2. Gave it a quick go over with WD-40 today but still no luck. The key doesn't even seem to fit in the passenger side door lock so I am now thinking that maybe the barrels have been changed at some point? Also the central locking doesn't seem to work, if these cars even had central locking? Any ideas how easy it would be to get new barrels in the doors and fix the central locking? I guess I would need to have two different keys then, one to open the doors and another to turn the car on? Don't want to spend too much on getting new barrels for the ignition as well. Cheers
  3. I was thinking this as I am a pro at taking things apart. Not so putting them back together though...Thanks for the suggestions Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  5. Hi All, Just brought a dirt cheap Fabia 1.9 SDI This is my third Skoda (Citigo & Mk2 Fabia VRS before) and I've been active on this forum before so I know you guys can help me out Couple of things that I need answers on... The doors dont actually need my key to unlock, you can use any key (or anything that will turn the locking barrel round), what would cause this issue? I'm pretty sure the central locking still works and it unlocks/locks all doors when I turn the barrel. It judders slightly when braking, I think this is warped discs/low pads (I have got new pads but need to fit them) but I was unsure if there was another common issue in Fabias that this might be? Floating to the left - When I let go of the steering wheel the car seems to veer of to the left quite noticeably. I thought this might have been one of the tyres as it had worn on the inside so I had it changed but it is still doing it. My next guess is the tracking/alignment of the tyres? Light steering? The steering on the Fabia seems ridiculously light, which can be quite fun at motorway speeds... are they known to be light or is my power steering playing up? That is all...for the moment Thanks
  6. I'll definitely keep my eye on this forum, mainly to keep updated on Boss Fox's crazy projects Never know...I might be back for good at some stage! I'll probably keep the OEM suspension set up then as it's less hassle than trying to remove the coil overs, they were a right pain to fit!! Thanks for the info as always! Cheers
  7. So unfortunately I am leaving the Skoda scene... :( Skoda are coming to pick the car up in a couple of weeks and terminating my finance plan. They have been made aware that I have put some coil overs on the car and I asked if I should remove them before they pick the car up. They said "As long as the car is in a drivable condition it doesn't matter, we will take the car away". It doesn't say anything about modification in the contract either and I asked them 4 times just to make sure... They are only cheap coil overs and cost me £120 brand new. I can't really be bothered to go through the hassle of removing them or paying someone to do it. So my question is... Should I keep the OEM suspension and sell it (about 5,000 miles on them) are people paying for them and if so how much? or should I take the coil overs off and sell them (about 15,000 miles on them), for probably not much more than £60-70? Cheers Guys
  8. I can't find the exact details of my test that they sent to me but my first test used 0.373 litres of oil every 620 miles I've heard of the new oil squirters as one of my neighbours brought a old CAVE engined VRS and has oil issues so took it to skoda and they fitted these to it, haven't heard from them if its made a difference yet though.
  9. Always run it on Tesco Ron 99 - The spark plugs were changed at 10,000 miles as they were ruined causing the car to misfire. It had two oil tests before that and one after as they said that was a sign of high oil usage, but then it passed all three times. I'm getting rid of the car in about 6 months so I'm not that bothered to make a fuss or waste my time chasing something that they obviously don't care about.
  10. Mine smokes a bit under acceleration when its cold, usually when i'm pulling out of junctions etc. It uses allot of oil (not enough for the dealer to fix it) but it has ever since I got it, although never noticed the smoke until recently. Might bring it up with the dealer when it goes in for its next service in a couple of thousand miles.
  11. Whats the most MPG that people have seen out of their VRS? I managed to get 52mpg out of my VRS the other week!!! Tank said I had 30 miles left in my tank and it was a 36 mile journey home so I was being super careful (60 mph in slow lane of motorway with not much traffic about)... but still, not too shabby for a 30 odd mile trip and 180 horses! Photographic proof ...
  12. Are they Hubcentric? And what sort of price are you looking for?
  13. Ive got some BBS RS Reps on mine, 8J fronts and 8.5J Rears. Not sure on the ET though. Had to fit 7mm spaces on the front as well to clear the brakes... They stick out a fair bit and its only a matter of time until they meet a kerb or two, as it looks like the previous owner has done so already!
  14. Hiya, Any of this stuff still for sale? Thanks
