  1. Totally agree. My VRs will be going here till it dies..
  2. Excellent, thanks for this. If you are willing to part with the Golf one, could you pm me details of how I could take it off your hands? Cheers.
  3. Hi Dox, I'm not sure if its destroyed the two side pieces, a quick glance showed they looked quite out of shape - wont't be able to get it jacked up till weekend... If you do have a spare (not worried about scrapes as long as it does the job!), could you pm me with how much you want for it? I'm up in Aberdeenshire for postage. Cheers. gm2112
  4. Hi folks, I had a nice view of my engine undertray disintegrating whilst at speed tonight - I think it avoided hitting the 61 plate Audi behind me . On the VRS I recall it was a small, bumper to before sump tray. As I dont have any bits to check (!), can someone advise what the part no. is? I hear they arent too pricey either (<£30?). Thanks, gm2112
  5. Toyo T1R - 225 45 17. Interesting about the wear issue - I do 16k plus a year and managed 12k on the fronts, 20k plus on the rear Unfortunately they are worse than dire in the snow - be warned!!! For that I've invested in a set of Nokian WRG2's which were a revelation in snow/rain/slush/whatever this past few winter months. Will change them over to another set of Toyo's in March.
  6. Might be worth putting this in the Fabia forum ! Could be anything really, and really needs a diagnostic check.
  7. Ok, first of all, I bought a MK4 Golf Rear wiper unit to replace the knackered (seized with rust!) unit I had. Slightly different model number but fits perfectly.......until you try to connect the wiper arm and nozzle!!! :'( This type sprays from the spindle, and the connector is different - great... but I managed to get a MK4 Wiper arm....but it just doesn't sit right(knocks the cap a few mm's on first sweep). Anyone else tried this? Pain in the **** but I cant see much if any difference between the wiper arm on the Octy and the Golf? Rear window is obviously not as sharply raked as the Golf. Only £25 for the parts, but looking on fleabay for a second hand motor is around £40 plus for the "original" Octavia. Anyone know of a similar VW group motor and arm that will fit the Octavia? Thanks,
  8. Thats just solved a similar problem I have with my new Sony unit... Thanks!
  9. Been running Tesco 99 (now "Momentum") for 2 1/2 years with no problems at all. Only time I had an issue was with BPs old 99, which even with 2 tanks ran like a tortoise with 2 legs.. I'm on a 110k and car is running sweet. Wouldn;t use anything else TBH... Carry on using Momentum - nothing to worry about !
  10. Agree, the ones on eBay have lasted well so far (including 3 x shampoo cleans!). Had them over a year. What I would like though is a heel plate for these....
  11. More room in the Octy Hatch boot than say, a 407 estate! I've had similar family size loads in the boot. Trees(!) Gas boilers, doors.....unbelievable what you can fit in there
  12. Up to 105k on original clutch and exhaust. Never had (touch wood!) a car where all the "bits" have lasted so long. Here's for another 100k.......!
  13. That looks excellent - really nice. Splitter tops it off well. Think I'm going to raid the piggy bank!
