My reasons for going for the 1.2 were the very short journeys most less that 5 miles, and fear of DPF problems with the Diesels, although never heard of any Yeti's having DPF issues.

Hope your enjoying your car... if your getting 40+ thats brill. Whatever fuel economy I achieved it I still think it was worth every penny as driving the Yeti is FUN! What options is yours carrying? Are you travelling on your own or fully loaded? Notice yours is also running on 16" wheels. Would the Tyre / Wheel combination affect mpg ? Mine was running on 17" Dunlops. How old is your 1.2? Maybe they've improved the software, and consumption?

I'm glad others are getting better fuel economy... these were just my observations after 2.5 years and around 10000 miles. " New Yetis seem to be pricier - Can't get the same spec for around the price I paid new in 2010." - What I meant by this was even allowing for Inflation and VAT increase. The deals don't seem to be there anymore. Guess Skoda dealers know how great the Yeti is, the product sells itself, so not willing to discount.... great for low depreciation.... great trade in. I bought my fully loaded (every option) Yeti for a great price in 2010. Same car is now at least 15% more. Don't think I or the wife has a particular heavy right foot.... so not sure why so low.... ... although 80% of journeys in heavy stop start traffic,school, shopping runs.... Even the optimistic trip computer would suggest 28-29mpg at best - other cars i've had in the past seem to achieve near claimed combined figures but never better....so maybe it was just my Yeti, early model? fault? or weight of options, kids etc, and getting the thing moving everytime we stop in traffic.. Hope the big Yeti, grand Yeti, Yeti +2 or Snowman, whatever it ends up being called has extra boot/ seven seats.

After two and a half years happy and proud Yeti ownership my time with my little 1.2 with deep regret has come to an end. I've finally had to bite the bullet and get something bigger. I've gone for a used XC90 an altogether different beast. Positives - Placed order and bought without test driving pre hype. One of the first 1.2 dsgs - exceeded expectations! Great fun to drive, plenty of get up and go, So quiet, a joy to own, drive.... great spec - mine was fully loaded, No squeaks or rattles, reliable, low depreciation ( based on price paid in 2010 ). That sunroof.... lets loads of light in and opens!!! Interiror doesn't feel cheap and finally i've been left with great, very positive memories. Negatives - Build Delays. Claimed economy - never more than mid to high twenties mpg in everyday use, alloy wheel and badge white worm, leaky sunroof sometimes. DSG sometimes hesitant. Park Assist never trusted it again after it kerbed rear NS alloy. Farce over ordering spare and sunroof options together. Room for improvement- Small boot with spare in place. After 1st year,,,, began to have nagging doubts over DSG reliability... weird rumbles when pulling away from standstill never failed though. No KM markings on speedo, rear seat backs only cloth material easily damaged / how safe - should have a metal plate. 12 speaker sound system??? not worth the extra. New Yetis seem to be pricier - Can't get the same spec for around the price I paid new in 2010. Front seat bases seem to ripple. Expensive front indicator bulb changes... why is something so simple so complicated not simply clever. I'd like to wish all who contribute, those who just visit, support this site, and all you Skoda / Yeti owners out there all the very best... to those undecided about the Yeti... I say go buy one... you'll never regret buying one....it becomes part of the family letting go is very hard though... If only there were a Grand Yeti..... I'd be at the front of the queue..... Are you listening Skoda??????

I have just installed a Columbus in my Yeti. It's 2010 DSG Elegance with th 12 speaker SoundSystem. Originally had Bolero. All appears to work OK, except I get electrical static crackle through the rear right speaker. This occurs even when the Columbus is off and the keys are out of the ignition. The crackle is there 24/7 unless I unplug the Columbus from the car using the large multiplug on the rear of the Columbus. I've had the coding checked and the following errors have been reported. Not sure what to do though. Don't think I can leave the unit in the car as I presume its running or crackling continously, and i'm sure will drain the battery. Doesn't look like the battery drain issue reported elsewhere because the gateway is AE revision, but I don't know now. Help needed. I like Lava Blue, if it looks as good as the photoshopped image it lends an understated class to the Yeti in this shade. Definitely a colour i'd consider if I ever replace mine. I considered Storm Blue but found it too bright, and also considered Muscavado. In the end went for Steel Grey. My personal favourite though at the moment is the Orange. A real suprise when you see it in the flesh.

Thanks James, a copy of the fitting instructions would be great. Only asking the question about park assist as the Superskoda site seems to imply it won't work with park assist equipped Yeti. I presume that the front piece must be different to cater for the parking sensor.

Agree with CT17 all can look OK but isn't always. If you ever have a bump don't just look at the cosmetic and assume all is OK. If you're not upto checking everything yourself, make sure you get the car checked over properly at a dealer and don't let the other party escape without getting their details. In my opinion the Yeti's bumper area isn't as tough as it looks. As well as the cosmetic, make sure anything attached to the bumper, or around it such as the mounting points, bumper bar and skin are still connected, clips, parking sensors, exhaust silencer/ mounting, reflectors, tow bar, boot floor are all still OK. I found out to my cost on my old A3 just how much replacing a single parking sensor cost. It was working pre bump and all looked OK post bump. I didn't get the other parties details.... when I put the car in reverse the warning for esp/parking sensor failure came up on the dash. Too late... parts, labour, painting, waiting for parts / time off work - I had to pick up the bill. It wasn't cheap. My advice would always be to get the other parties details, If alls OK then the other party have nothing to worry about.

Experiences ordering from Super Skoda? Anyone with access to ETKA - is there a version for Park Assist equipped Yetis?

I went for the three spoke wheel when ordering my Yeti new and this was the one option I really wanted which wasn't available. Had paddles on my previous A3 and initially missed them. A year on i'm quite happy with my Yeti, although now knowing this can be done i'm seriously considering it as a retrofit... but have a few questions. 1. Does this mod affect your insurance premium? and if so by how much? 2. Any problems after fitting? 3. Do you have part nos for the wheel and any other bits needed? 4. What coding changes are made? 5. Do you still use it as much as you thought you would after the initial novelty has worn off?

Same issue with my rear badge. OK up until end of April then the worm appeared. Getting it replaced under warranty on Wednesday. advised it should be 1/2hr while u wait repair.

Park assist How it works The park assist system can assist you with parking in a suitable parallel parking space between two vehicles or behind a vehicle. On selection (and travelling below 30 km/h) the park assist automatically searches for suitable parking spaces using sensors mounted in the bumpers. During the parking procedure the park assist only takes over the steering movements, the pedals and gears continue to be operated by the driver. This option also includes front park sensors (rear sensors standard on SE & Elegance) which can be controlled indipendantly of the Park assist program via it's own switch. Also manual 2wd models fitted with this option will have ESP fitted as part of the package for no additional cost. Worth having? If you do a lot of street parking this could be for you. A number of owners have commented on how small a space the system can fit the Yeti into. Although there has been the odd negative comment such as not it not recognising a large space as suitable, overall I think owners who have this system fitted are happy with it. One month since delivery and 1200miles on the clock. Use it everyday.... My thoughts on Park Assist are its brill so long as the cars you allow Yeti to squeeze in between have moved on by the time you want to leave. Twice had experience where i've been nervous about getting the car out of the space Park Assist has managed to put it in. Now I won't let it squeeze into a space I wouldn't attempt to manually park in.... Anyone else had a similar experience?

Any update on your car? After considerable testing( hoses, buckets, etc) I haven't been able to recreate the leak. It's even rained twice! I managed to get one of those snake cams and feed it up between the headlining and roof and left it there recording.... no leaks. The only thing I did notice was that the two drain channels exits either side of the tailgate hinge (they look like rubber blank covers) were retaining water, the exit holes appear to be covered by design with only a cut in the rubber to form a flap which allows water to exit. By slightly raising the flaps water was draining much faster. wondering if these had stuck, thus causing a bottleneck, and water to back up and overflow elsewhere, leaking into the interior. For now my Yeti appears to be dry inside... will monitor and update as things progress.

Hi, Thanks for empathising and your advice. Really hope you won't have to wait too much longer to be reunited with your Yeti. It's a great car, and the roof really made it special... I agree that this might become a much bigger issue for Skoda if /as the weather gets worse... with the summer we've had so far, not much rain this is one aspect which hasn't really been tested. As the Yeti has been out in some markets for a while just wondering why this issue hasn't been picked up already. Were the carpets wet, or did you have to remove them to confirm water in the footwells/ underlay? Will carry out further tests this weekend... sit in the boot and see what happens.... I believe more rain is forecast. will post results asap. Then contact dealers/ Skoda etc. I really hope you are saying that your Yeti's leak has been fixed and that the wait is now down to waiting for replacement parts damaged as a result of the initial leak issue. Do you know what Beadles have done to prevent further leaks? Are wider drain channels available, or were the original channels defective in some way and simply replaced?? Regards Paliman
