Thought I would update this topic since I started it, I bought a 16 plate 1,4 tsi se at 9k on the clock. Its now done 194000 . Only new bits so far 2 front drop links, battery, aulternator, clutch even though it didnt need it front and rear disks at 140krear and 150k front. small Timeing belt at 160k . Uses no oil between 10k sercices, break pads changed every 50k. still pulls like a train
-
I bought one 2016 , and its now covered 180,000 miles , only things changed, 1 temp sensor, 2 front drop links, alternator put a new clutch in even though it didn't need at 175,000 but wasn't wanting it to go , only changed the front discs at 150,000 rears at 130 k , cross climates lasting 50k Average fuel consumption 38 to 64 mpg , well pleased

The exhausts on the 1.4 tsi are in 2 parts , but the centre box and back box are on one pipe, can you buy a back box on its own , then cut the pipe to fit it
-
Basically remove the headlight back cover as if you're changing a bulb stick the hair dryer in the hole for about 15 mins on high
-
Remove the back cover and the bulb, then get a hair dryer in the hole to completely dry it out, then replace and see how it goes

Thinking of trading my 1.4 tsi manual, 110,000 miles for a dsg, but what 150 octavia has the 6 speed dsg, or even superb, all the adverts dont tell you

Has anyone fitted spotlights to their Octavia, and how would it be achieved

The bolt on the pully end of the high pressure fuel rail had become slack enough to allow number 1 injector to spray fuel out into the engine bay. New seals on all 4 injectors and new bolts fitted with lock tight and back on the road , cost £192.
