  1. April 2009 59K Broken Inlet valve spring CCZA Engine
  2. Another failure 2.0 TSI Engine 2009............Broken inlet valve spring discovered after engine misfire which also burned out the inlet manifold which had to be replaced. A big job, removal of the head also chain and tensioners replaced as this had been rubbing against the covers,Skoda made a contribution towards the cost.... not impressed overall
  3. Just order 4 new tyres.....................Try Halfords site on the internet 30% off branded tyres and a further £5 off with a voucher that can be found on the internet as well. I got a very price that I couldnt beat anywhere Bridgestones R050A, I have found them to be excellent and replacing like for like
  4. For what is worth, the tensioner was replaced on my car when it went in for a service. The dealer said that it was mod on certain engine numbers only and mine was one of these and it was changing. Skoda UK is obviously aware of these issues with the tensioner however it may be on, as I said, certain TSI engines. May be worth checking with the dealer to see if your engine number is on the list, they wont tell you unless you ask or its serviced by them I suppose so they can claim the costs back from Skoda UK.
  5. Had the same issue some time ago...................intake manifold flap sticking,, fault code P2015
  6. Sorry to hear the news on the car brown_d9 i dont really know how these things happen but its must be a nightmare for you. just to let you know during the first service of my LE they did a mod/changed to the chain tightener on the car. It wasnt a recall it was but a notice to the Skoda garage to carry out this work, I knew nothing about it until they said.

  8. Had something very similar noise in the footwell area. Had it check out while the car was on its last days of the warranty. Turned out to be noise transfer? from the coolant pump at the front of the engine. The pump was replaced everything fine now
  9. had a similar noise problem, thought is was one of the fans on the heating system as the noise was coming from the glove box area. Had the car in the garage for a service last week and said that there was a fan noise or something grinding around the glove box area. Took the mechanic for a drive so he could hear it and........."By noise transver"?? the diagnostics were.. Its the coolant pump at the front of the engine thats running dry, apprently its a pump tha runs on a small belt similar to a hover belt as he discribed it, Under warrenty its getting replaced new pump, belt, coolant etc. He also said that the front end of the car will have to come off to get to the pump??? thats a new one on me. Dont assume rattles, noises etc are located in the area where you think the noise is coming from.
