Octy RS 1U custom interior LED lights
arcom replied to davojuri's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Exactly! I simply don't have the time to do it! On the other hand I would be happy to provide you with the information on how many LEDs are there and their type, but nothing more. WHAT?!?!?!?! I don't believe what I'm seeing and reading! If YOU want to do it, be my guest but don't involve me without my knowledge!!! Dakle, Davore, ako sam ti lijepo vec prije rekao da se NE ZELIM bavit time cemu onda sve ovo? I komentar "samo trebate bit uporni...". Mislim stvarno... EOD Sorry for comments in croatian, but it seems like Davor doesn't understand my english... -
Octy RS 1U custom interior LED lights
arcom replied to davojuri's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Actually...no, you cannot send him your dashboards, switches, etc. I'm the "dude" who changed the illumination on many Octavias and Fabias (and other VAG cars) in the past couple of years (including Davor's vRS). My free time is rather limited because of my work and my company often sends me on sites across the world when needed - in other words, I don't know how long I'm staying at home. This is something that can change at any time and I'm not comfortable accepting anything if I'm not 100% sure that I will be home to receive it. Changing car's interior illumination is something I do for my friends, mostly as a hobby. I don't have a stock of LEDs nor do I plan to make one. Therefore, I cannot and will not accept your dashboards (and/or other parts). Sorry. I already told that to Davor... I would also like to ask the administrator/moderator or Davor to remove my e-mail from his post (above).\ Thanks in advance. -
john-w> like ChrisRs said, it's an RS bumper. Fog lights (aftermarket ones) are hidden behind the grilles. Dmac1969 & Blade404> Thnx!

Here's mine...after 3 years

Skoda made new badges for the face-lifted models, i.e. instead of "1.2 HTP" it's only "HTP", "1.9 SDI" is replaced by "SDI" only, etc.

As far as I know only the vRS has red needles. You can disassemble the instrument cluster and replace the LEDs that illuminate the needles (there are only four of them) I don't see a point of buying an entire instrument cluster just because of a different needle illumination.

Merry Christmas everyone!

It was a nice sunny day today and I was bored...guess what followed 1. This is how all began... I've put 2x 3LEDs on each plastic bit (don't know exact name). I don't have any photos of production stage because I was obviously too occupied and forgot to take a few shots 2. You gotta do what you gotta do! I thought that the wiring would already be in place since there is a space for fuse, but it's not. Oh well, few feets of wires won't kill me... 3. Font side + connector I've put a connector in place for easier removal of both the door trim and the indicator light because I'll probably remove the door trim at least 20 times more...yeah, it's nice to know every square inch of your car... 4. Testing, testing... 5. And the final result! Me likes it! I just remembered that I had to take one more photo when both doors are open, but...it was freezing outside and I was hungry! I've connected these lights on the same wire that goes to the inner light so now I have a cool fade-out effect when I close the doors (and a fade-in effect when I unlock the car) In the end, it all comes down to this: 12 LEDs, 6 resistors (470ohm), 4m 2x0,75mm^2 cable, 5A fuse and a FIRST AID KIT! I've managed to leave a little bit of blood on some piece of metal...

Nice rims, Mil! Is your car lowered? Anyway, looks great! Funny thing about those black bevels: I've got them but a friend of mine doesn't (mine is silver '04 model, his is black '05 model). Also, his previous black Furby, '03 model, had black bevels  When I bought my car I saw that only models with light colours had black bevels whereas dark-coloured models didn't. IMHO, it looks better with them - makes the headlights a bit smaller and nicer

Place: Somewhere in Croatia, top secret location Time: 16:00h - 21:30h So...I've decided to darken the windows a little bit and since I got a great deal on the job I said "what the heck, let's DO IT!" And the rest is history... A friend was working so fast that even the camera couldn't take a decent shot of him Rear doors on a diet Maybe it's too bright, what do you think? Just for comparison: tinted vs. original And that was it for the day... ...but then came the next day and more work to be done! I bought those nice little B-pillar decorating set Beginning... ...and the end After that came the front windows: Finally...ta-daaaaa: Here's how it looks in daylight: Alothough it seems that you don't see anything through those windows...you do! (front windows are down, of course). Front windows are 20% tint while rear are 50% tint. All in all, I'm very pleased with the final result! The car now looks much better now and all I have to do is steal some money from the bank to buy new alloy wheels Just kidding... And just to make things a little more exciting, cops stopped me that night but they didn't notice the front windows were darkened (as it is illegal!). Lucky me

Rear leak continues - is this fixed in new Fabias?
arcom replied to maffwilson's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Mine ('04 Fab) leaks only when the left side is higher than the right side I tend to park it on a flat surface (since my "discovery") whenever I can - problem fixed -
On-board computer stopped working :(
arcom replied to Mull3tt's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Did you try a gentle hammering on the top of the dashboard? I find it helpful with almost all electronic devices Perhaps is just a loose wire/bad contact. You also have a few fuses in the engine bay (above the battery) - check them. I suppose everything else is working fine? -
I'm glad that everything works now! Waiting for pics...
