  1. An update on my original post. In MY case after trying all the reset procedures I could find and lubricating the runners with silicone spray I bought the switches. 84e here in Eire. Just fitted them thanks to some helpful threads here and problem solved. Thanks everyone
  2. Hi guys my 2017 Superb the drivers one touch works on close but not on opening. I have to keep my finger on it. I've tried the various reset procedures nothing works. Other 3 windows and global opening and closing are working 100% its just the drivers. I've ordered a new switch pack. I hope I haven't jumped the gun. Any thoughts?
  3. No it was left open either by the seller or my son in law who was looking around the car. I just sat into it and whack. I am sickened to say the least!
  4. Hi guys just broke the spectacle holder in my 17 Superb literally 5 mins after buying it. Ive ordered a replacement and I'm wondering if anyone on here has any tips or tricks they wouldn't mind sharing..I've attached a pic of replacement part 50e from main dealer so not too bad

  9. Hi guys anybody have any experience with turbos manufactured in China?? this one in particular.. http://sfimanager.en.made-in-china.com/productimage/jvDEBKcCrUka-2f1j00JjuEmGUPAcks/China-454232-5011s-Garrett-Turbocharger-for-VAG-1-9tdi-Asv-Auy-Engine.html Any feedback appreciated regds
  10. 100 % Had it checked by turbo specialist as well as another mechanic..i can get recon one here in Ireland for 340 euro but seems the jury is out on the reconditioned ones..checked some salvage sites in the uk and theyre all coming in around 250 euro plus shipping..expensive piece of kit
  11. Hi guys can anybody recommend a reputable supplier of second hand turbos?? Ive tried dismantling and cleaning the turbo but it still loosing power, Turbo definitely fubarred and need one immediately. Any recommendations appreciated
  12. many happy returns Third successful test drive done this morning
  13. Hey Mic Mac took her out last night and recreated all situations where she would normally have gone into limp mode ie hard acceleration in top gear from lower revs/speeds and no problem..i took her up to 70 and left her drop down to 50 and kept putting her under load and all good..time will tell of course. I was shocked at how clogged and stiff the veins in the central cartridge actually were its amazing how the vacum actuator worked at all..im hoping shes good for at least another 30k..
  14. okay guys took down the turbo today and oh my god what a job. Driveshaft etc had to come out before i could get at it..eventually got it out and stripped and out of all the veins 3 were moving freely. The others wouldnt shift without the assistance of a hefty set of pliers. Completely cleaned them without removing the three torx screws for fear they would break. Kept at it till everything was moving freely and replaced the actuator ring. I was suprised at how clean the inlet manifold was and the actuator was perfect. Ive only done about 40 miles since so im not clapping myself on the back yet but so far so good
