I take it your not one of the 97% of customers who would recommend Arnold Clark or part of the 94% customer satisfaction. Makes you wonder how they arrive at these figures. Suspect your heading back to West End Garage?
-
What I find difficult to understand is that apart from the bodywork the cars have nearly the same components so why the difference in reliability?
-
That's a pity Ian given how much you liked your old Yeti.
-
Having also swapped a Yeti for a Tiguan for the same reason........I prefer the Tiguan as I think it is more refined and better built. I also prefer the dash layout , but then we are all different.
-
No sarcasm intended I assure you. The reason I changed from a Yeti to Tiguan was that I tow a caravan and if I wanted a bigger one I needed a car with a heavier kerb weight. Prior to the Yeti I had a Bora 130pd. Sold with 136k on the clock and had no problems. Before that a 110 Passat sold at 126k again no problems. In fact the only VW I had problems with was a 1973 1600TE fastback which I bought of Work colleague. Just about ruined me trying to fix it. Bob

Personally I prefer the Tiguan, l like the larger boot also, I prefer the dash but again its a matter of taste. I like the fact the radio and controls are placed higher and easier to reach. I went from a 2wd 110bhp Yeti to a 140bhp 4motion, so not comparing like for like as far as performance goes. I do miss the great fuel consumption of the Yeti but knew fuel consumption would be less and can live with it. During the year I had the Yeti I could find no fault with it. Bob

Having recently gone from a Yeti to a Tiguan I can say that it is far better built. Bob

I had a 110 bhp diesel and my average mpg on the computer was 58. Towing a 1200kg caravan got about 30 mpg. Wouldn't liked to tow with a 1.6. Driven 210 miles in my 140 bhp Tiguan today and averaged 54 mpg for the jou A lot's to do with how you drive. Bob
-
It also has a lot to do with how its loaded. Some all of the Coachman caravans are on the heavy side. Bob
-
My 110 diesel towed a 1200kg caravan no problem. I only changed it because I need a heavier car. Bob
-
How about a 110bhp diesel , you should have plenty of power and good fuel consumption. Bob
-
The wheels and tyres are still for sale. Bob
-
I've got someone in the Highlands who wants them, just waiting tk finalise everything. Bob
-
It was secondhand, but fitted with new tyres.

They do but the Tiguan came with all weather tyres.
