  1. Duncan, It may just be a linkage inside the door that needs adjusting slightly. so yes I would take it to the dealer, and if you paint is going white it could be the top layer separating from the paint caused by bad preparation.
  2. Click this link for the opening times for 2003 in english http://nuerburgring.de/eng/angebote/sf_n_q1.htm Jan - March http://nuerburgring.de/eng/angebote/sf_n_q2.htm April - June http://nuerburgring.de/eng/angebote/sf_n_q3.htm July - September http://nuerburgring.de/eng/angebote/sf_n_q4.htm October - December Now to start planning some trips Thanks to **** (diho) for pointing me in the right Direction. He is currently unable to post due to some problem with his password I think.
  3. Any ideas what time the pub opens, the one we went to nr birmingham opened at 12 so I assume its proberbly the same. So midday would be a good time, or slightly earlier to allow for a chinwag in the carpark. Rain permitting.
  4. Found this info at http://winxp.bink.nu Origin from North Korea? "A.P. BREAKING NEWS: Reports that a wide-spread cyber-attack is underway on the key internet servers in the United States, the NSA is reporting that the attacks are believed to be originating from North Korean military computer networks. There is a massive worm that has infected all Microsoft SQL servers that are doing a giant DoS attack on udp port 1314. There is currently a major DDOS similar to codered/nimda circulating. It is targetting Microsoft SQL Serers, on udp port 1434, with packets sized at 404 bytes. Approximately 10-20% of the internet is "down" right now."
  5. I remember seeing those pics a while ago. What a way to ruin a skoda
  6. I Used kf a couple of times, never again. Took my xr3i to them for some new brake discs, and they tried to sell me all sorts of stuff, shocks, steering parts etc. I now use a local company where I know the branch manager, been using them for years now. He won't sell me anything I dont need, but I think thats because I know him.
  7. Tempting, very tempting. I am trying to workout what dates to go over at the moment depending on ring open dates.
  8. Interesting question, I dont like having different tyre types on the same axel, so perhaps some wheel switching could be done so that the pirelli's are on the front and conti's on the back. Assuming the tyre is not directional and that you can move one pirelli to the otherside.
  9. Thought I would show you one of the other pics, this time from the other side, as you can see from this angle it looks much better. [img:dd654d402c]http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jotero/skodaf2.jpg[/img:dd654d402c]
  10. Duncan, From the other pics I have seen, looks like it needs. 2x Inner Wings 2x Wings 1x Bonnet and slam panel 1x Bumper and lights. Dash panel parts and 2x airbags The steering etc looks ok, it looks odd the pics because the steering wheel is not facing forward. None of the windows are broken so I think the structure is sound. My previous car but one had been in such an accident and rebuilt but not recorded, I think as long as the main structure is sound then it should be ok to repair. Agewise it looks to me to be perhaps slightly older than ours, its defo a Y Reg as its the only part of the Reg I can makeout.
  11. Just had some pics emailed to me, here's one the rest are on my site [img:8a10b46f5f]http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jotero/skodaf.jpg[/img:8a10b46f5f] This RS has been bought from a salvage company and had hit a tree full frontal.
  12. Dont know about a weekly one, but I would be up for it, just make it a weekend.
  13. I have used just 2 cleaners in the last 18 months of ownership, and to this day the wheels still look like new. Wonder Wheels and Autoglym Wheel cleaner , you can get them both at Halfords. You need to clean the wheels at least fortnightly or the brake dust starts to get stuck big time, then you will need loads of elbow grease to get the bits off.
  14. Over on the ringers list a trip report into one of the posters september 02 visit has been posted, and it makes interesting reading especially this bit, the person concerned had just done a lap in a focus tdi. Quote: Almost unable to stand due to laughter when getting out of the car, I can see the benefit of having a low powered, predictable family run around. This realisation is further concreted after experiencing a passenger lap in a black Skoda Octavia, which manages to catch and pass a number of greatly more powerful machines. Although it almost manages to collect an unbelievably stupid touring biker, who had absolutely no observation skills, whilst going up through Kesselchen. The Skoda driver just managed to avoid a major incident by putting 2 wheels on the grass at over 100mph. End Quote. The full report can be read over at smartgroups http://www.smartgroups.com/group/group.cfm?gid=676210 you need to register a smartgroup account before being allowed access.
  15. Denis what they need is one of these, http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/vw.asp . I would post it myself but it would mean another username/password to remember. (Moderator's note: Blue Spot Car Audio has been added to the ICE section in our web links - DGW)
