  1. Finally figured it out, mine has the Fresh air blower control unit J126 rather than the standard resistor. Only problem is I can't get the part anywhere. Thanks for the advice anyway.
  2. hey all I have an issue with my 07 Skoda Roomster 3 TDI - it's got climatronic which has failed - I think its the resistor pack, so have got a replacement and need to fit it. Only issue is I can't find anything that looks like it where it should be, under the passenger airbag behind the top glovebox. Anyone got any ideas or could assist please? thanks
  3. Hi all, I've got a 2007 diesel roomster with climatronic and I can't see the resistor pack after taking out the airbag. Anyone got any idea as to where this would be?
  4. Hi, I have the same issue changing gear and it turns out the the diff locking pin sheared off. The diff then wore the gear box casing away and this caused the oil to leak out hence the gear crunching from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 2nd. Mine seized up so the car won't go forward.
  5. The mechanic confirmed that a locking pin in the diff had sheared off causing the diff to rub against the gearbox casing and making a hole about the size of a credit card and the oil drained away. He says the gear box can be rebuilt and with a new clutch will cost in the region of £1k. I'm currently battling with Skoda for them to cover the repair as this is not a wear & tear issue. If anyone has experienced this please let me know. I understand it's not just the roomster gearbox.
  6. Hi, I was driving in a straight line, braking from around 25mph and stopped the car. I tried to pull off again and as I got to about 10 miles an hour the car just came to a dead stop. The gear box was confirmed as the source of the problem by my mechanic today. It's a manual 1.9 tdi. The wheels won't do a full revolution. The gear box has seized up. The car has always had an issue with changing up or down to second since I bought it where it would grind and then when retried the gear changed and I always assumed it was me but I self taught how to drive a manual, learning the best way to regulate the clutch and accelerator, (my instructor remarked how smooth and well timed the changes were I don't think it's me now)
  7. Hi all, Was out driving on Saturday near the Trafford Centre in Manchester when for some unknown the reason the car stopped quite rapidly by it's self. At first I thought it was the brakes jammed on hard or something or the clutch had gone however there is some roll back and forward but very limited and there is plenty of power when trying to go forward. The recovery guy though it may be the drive shaft or cv boots and a mate thought it may be the diff lock but I don't think the Roomster has one of those. Any one got some concrete idea's as to the problem. Both my parents had to have the cv boots on both Passats changed and both cars are newer than mine and my brothers A3 suffered a similar issue and several other drivers with Skodas, mainly a 2011 superb and 2 brand new Octavia's in my dad's taxi company all suffered with the same issue within a year. I'm suspecting faulty cv boots based on that but then the wheels would still turn.
  8. I think that's it
  9. tried using torque pro on it with my odb2 plug, no error codes are showing, just the blower wont work - is there a way to reset it?
  10. Hi all, The blower won't turn on and the climatronic display flashes all it's symbols for about 20 seconds when I've turned the ignition. The car was sat for about 3 days without any use at all. Anyone got any ideas as to the issue? thanks,
  11. I got it back eventually, no word of an apology though. Sensor issue magically disappeared when the dry weather came so will have to wait until it's wet out before taking it back to them. I wouldn't recommend Lookers to buy a car from given the problems I have had and the only reason I will continue to use them while I have the car is because of the warranty.
  12. Hi J5, mine is a 2007, I've also seen the maxidot display in friend's 05 A3 which is way more advanced than mine and that p***** me off no end that Skoda were so cheap on this considering his was standard equipment for the SE spec. Mine is a Roomster 3 btw
  13. Thanks for the advise everyone. I have sent a complaint into Skoda UK and the dealership as when I checked the price of the part, £230.00 I doubt the previous owner would have spent that much on a useless part. So far the dealership have yet to come back to me.
  14. I currently have the Dance head unit but I hate the fact that the ipod integration is a 3.5mm jack and this sounds lousy compared to my old sony head unit which had an ipod connector and full ipod integration when connected. I would like to confirm a few things before I buy though. 1. Is the dashboard aperture the same for both the Dance Radio and the Bolero Radio? (they look identical but i just thought i'd check) 2. This is a more specific Roomster question - i have got the maxidot installed in the Roomster but it seems to have a limited functionality with regards to the information displayed coming from the Radio (the top two lines only). This differs from other maxidot displays I have seen both in other Skodas, VWs and Seats. So I was wondering if anyone knows if the Bolero will talk to the Roomster type maxidot and also if it may give the maxidot any extra display functionality. I also would like to know if the Bolero will work with the head unit controls on the steering column. Any advice much appreciated.
