  1. Had Haldex oil change including filter and they noted rear disc wear. Today I changed them with little tech requirement. Lots of specialised tools though. Main issue is electric brake. After jacking car up, engine on and drop handbrake and switch off. Then loosen Allen bolts on elec motor and remove caliper then remove elec motor. Note change in that motor now has male Allen key way which needs to be wound off. You must hold piston position with tool and after clockwise rotation of motor key way then push back the piston. Change of disc dies not require removal of caliper carrier, if you are careful! Refit motor to caliper and install new pads. Remember to pump, slowly the brake pedal before switching car electrics on!! If removing caliper carrier need 14 mmm square spline socket. For windback of elec motor need female Allen socket for 21+ plate model, earlier it was male socket required.
  2. Hi, I have changed my 19" for ATS 17" with 225/55x17 tyres. The difference at the speedo is +1mph so 60 = 61 real, or if you go with 215 then it is -1mph so 60 is 59 real. see calculator of comparative tyre sizes. I have changed due harshness of ride with 19" and I have gone for Michelin Crossclimate so I am not changing year on year. Also the mich are quieter. Ride is softer but if your middle name is not Hamilton then the difference is not noticable! I used Crossclimates on my Yeti and they are very good on miles and overall wet performance is amazing.
  3. Hi, Incidentally, I fitted my own electrics to my Yeti L&K with no issuse using a bypass relay and also to previous VRS and Superb, so this was a real change for me. Electrics in Karoq have moved rapidly into 21 century and everything needs coding.
  4. Hi, my vehicle, a 1.5 Tsi Edition, reg on 23 Jan 18, was the mule for Witter and so has the original Witter bar fitted. Simple fit and very neat. It is detachable and the only bit that shows is the overrun cable loop with the bar detached. Fit is simple and took 2 hours for first fit. Car had been 3D scanned on previous visit to Witter for dimensions. Electrics was oh so different. Base unit was for an A3; half of car dismantled to fit it. The ECU is under the LH kick panel behind the bonnet pull. It took 7 hours (first time fit with experimentation) and definitely needs coding especially on high spec models as so many things change with towbar electrics- definitely not for the amateur.
  5. I fitted factory bars to my new Yeti in less than 1 hour and am using with a Thule basket. They come off and go on easily. The job done by your dealer looks like an unskilled apprentice or salesman did it. You will need new bars, which will come with new studs as the photos show the damage they have caused. Sorry pal, you will need to monitor this dealer. Fortunately Skoda do not break down too often so few visits to the dealer
  6. What is the definitiive answer to mudflaps for rear of Vrs est 2012 model? Of interest my insurance went up by 10 groups changing from Superb 140 to Vrs but premium didnt change!!! They just upped the excess to 350.Insurance through IAM Surety - very good - Sun alliance
