  5. It's with great reluctance that I will soon be putting my 2012 candy white Vrs Tdi up for sale if your interested, It's just coming up to 39k miles and is in stunning condition the engine is totally standard as I've never felt the need to mess about with something I consider to be perfect. It has a few subtle but tasteful cosmetic mods such as All badges updated to the new chrome style ones Sunset privacy glass It's been de badged at the rear Its has the black front grill And has had a bury car kit installed All very tasteful and all help to make this car a real head turner It has a full main dealer service history Recently just had a full service 2 new tyres Brake fluid change Air con service and regass And a full 4 wheel hunter alignment It has been my baby for the last 3 years but due to a change in my personal circumstances i now find myself having to sell the best car I have ever owned. Let me know if you interested or require any further information or pictures Paul
  6. Hi I had excatly the same problem mine was one of the near side tail lights but it would only actually not work for about 20 seconds and although the bulb out would stay on the bulb would actually work normally after 20 seconds of tuning the lights on. So you need to maybe get sombody else to be stood outside the car ready to check the bulbs as soon as you turn on the lights just incase you have a similar problem to me Hope this helps Paul
  7. Just out of interest can they tell if your system needs a regass without actually re gassing it in other words when they connect up their machine to your car will it tell them if the coolant is low
  8. Hi Guys Ive been offered a Thule AeroWing roof bars set up which comprises of the following 135cm roof bars (Thule ref 962) Foot packs (Thule ref 754) And adapters (Thule ref 1501) But I am finding conflicting information as to whether these will actually fit my vehicle which is 2012 Octavia Vrs Hatchback Any help or advice from you knowledgeable guys would be most appreciated Thanks in advance Paul
  9. Hi Sorry hope you don't mind me butting in on your thread but I've just had my 2012 Vrs hatch four wheel aligned on a hunter rig as I was suffering for excessive wear on the inside edges of my rear tyres near side was a lot worse than the offside. Anyway after looking at the print out i noticed that they had set mine up to the octavia Mk III 2013 specs when my car is in fact a 2012 Mk II I did ring the garage and the guy I spoke to said he didn't think it would make any difference to the set up but that he would check with The mechanic when he come back in on Monday morning. But just wanted to get input from you guys before then so I don't get fobbed off if they have cocked up hopefully you should see a picture of my print out below
  10. Hi After an advisory on my 1st mot last week about the insides of the rear tyres being close to the legal limit I'm looking to get mine done before I replace the rear tyres. With that in mind Can anybody recomend a good garage to do this in the cheshire or close surrounding area just looking for personal recomendations from any of you guys that may of had it done and been pleased with the service and quality of workmanship they received rather than picking local garage off the align my car.co.uk site Thanks in advance Paul
  11. Not sure if it is any help but just checked the price on Camskill and they are £75.40 each and its about £5.98 delivery for 2 which seems like a great price to me. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?show=109670 Paul
  12. Yes that is correct they are not meant to work if you have DRLs as the DRLs function as your sidelights
  13. Hi No buddy the side lights in the main headlight units are non working on the fl Vrs as the LEDs act as the side lights. Also you may find the reason you have a warning light on the dash is because you have a bulb thats just about on its last legs and will soon go ive just had the very same problem on mine for a week and then one of the tail lights went completely bulb replaced hey presto no warning light on the dash Hope this helps
  14. Hi Yes I bought those very ones from the same guy ordered them at 1:30am (yes im a bit of a night owl) and they come the next working day. They are really good Quality and look great I would highly recommend getting these from this guy from my experience with him Paul
  15. Hi Mine doesn't rev above 2500 in Neutral either that's normal I think it's something to do with emissions. But I'm sure if you press the traction control or something like that at it will actually then rev above 2500 in neutral. Not sure about the grinding noise though that doesn't sound good. Paul
  16. Pabs They were £18.98 EACH when I got mine back in August of last year so total cost was £37.96 delivered but as I say no need to be breaking lugs off or anything like that . As they were the right ones for my car for a perfect fit. Hope this helps
  17. Hey guys I'm still following this thread even though I fitted my badges to my 2012 Fl Vrs hatch some months ago now but am a little confused as to why people would still be ordering badges that the need the lugs breaking off the back to make them fit as if you see my. Previous post you do not need to order these as the correct ones for the Fl hatch have been available sometime now hope this helps
  18. Those three digits with the clock next to them relate to the number of days till the next services Is due
  19. Hi Darren There is no link in your post mate
  20. Yes I have exactly the same issue on my 2012 Vrs just got it back from the main dealer yesterday day after its 2nd service and I had mentioned the problem with just one of my rear parking Sensors second one in near side. The dealer said they've had a memo from Skoda who are aware of the issue but are saying it's not a problem just a trait of these super sensitive sensors. I did say if that's the case how come all my senses and not registering a similar fault when wet as I have both front and rear Parking sensors. In fact I did say I was happy to take my vehicle away and have the sensor replaced at my own expense and if the new sensor had exactly the same fault I would accept their argument. But if after replacing the in my opinion faulty sensor the fault went away I would expect to be reimbursed under warranty from Skoda To which he replied well you could do that but the problem is Skoda have not had enough complaints to accept that this is Inherent fault. So I said okay fine if it's numbers they want I could quite easily and very quickly get Information from Other Skoda owners who have this very same fault. He was not keen on me putting a post on this forum to that effect and instead gave me the number of customer services at Skoda UK and told me to give them a ring to see if they could help me any further and recommended that I do this before I put any post on this forum Surprise surprise. So I will give them a ring on Monday and see what they have to say
  21. Well I'm off to collect my car now from Mitchells So I will do as suggested and check the car when I get it back home and let you know my findings. As strange as it may seem I really do hope that when i do check I do find some at least some evidence of a lip or corrosion. which will then at least Restore some of my confidence in the main dealership. WATCH THIS SPACE
  22. I just had exactly the same thing happened to me right now My Vrs is in Mitchells skoda main dealers in Chester For its second service When I get a call from the service department saying a couple of things are flagged up on the safety checks. First thing was near side front tire is worn which I knew about and is due to be replaced tomorrow along with the offside front tyre as well. But then he started telling me that the front discs are badly corroded on the inside and have a lip on them and then started to give me a price to replace the disks and pads on the front. But as I'd already read this topic a week ago I questioned it and said that for the disks to be worn on a car that hadn't even done 18,000 miles and was most Definitely not driven like a race car and wasn't even 18 months old yet was absolutely crazy And that there must be a problem with the caliper sticking As Had previously been suggested on this topic.. To which he replied he would go away and speak to the technician working on my car and come back to me. 10 minutes later I get another call from Mitchells saying sorry he was mistaken The disks don't need replacing and the brakes are absolutely fine there is a very slightly lip on the inside but nothing to worry about. Absolutely unbelievable Had I not questioned it I would now be out of pocket to the tune of a couple of hundred quid for replacement disks and pads on the front That were clearly not needed in the first place. Which kind of brings into question the whole reason for taking your pride and joy to a main dealership in the first place. Firstly It's not unreasonable to expect a main dealership to know exactly what they're talking about and not have any breakdown in communication between the technician and the service desk. And secondly as you are ready paying a premium labour rate You have to hope that they will not try to squeeze even more money out of you unnecessarily. This is has kind of shattered my confidence and trust in Mitchells I have to say whatever their reason for this mistake
  23. So am I correct in thinking that £549 price includes both the removal of the Dpf and a normal stage 1 remap too ????Paul
