  1. Cheers for the advice. I've had a really good look to the left of the tensioner and I cant see any damper. So i'm just going to replace it with whats already there like for like.
  2. Hmm. Well i bought the car at 92k . Its ex police car and they changed the cambelt at 60k. I then bought the kit from ecp and paid a mechanic to change it at 100k. I cant remember exactly what kit i bought but i dont remember them questioning whether or not i had a damper. Its now on 164k. I might just strip it down and have a good look.
  3. ok thanks for the quick reply. I'll head back for a refund then. MIght have to make a trip to eurocarparts then. I found this kit on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAYCO-TIMING-CAM-BELT-KIT-SKODA-FABIA-1-4TDI-1-9-TDI-2003-2010-/390965201081?hash=item5b075788b9:g:9iYAAOSwyTZUWJ55 is this the correct kit?
  4. I took my cam cover off and i cant see any thing obvious. What do you think. I've included a picture the best i can get. I went to TPS and they said theres only one kit for my car based on my reg. The tensioner they gave me appears to be different to the one in my car. This is the TPS one . The TPS man said the one they sold me should fit my car. Is this right?
  5. Hello. Just about to do my cambelt change. I have a skoda fabia 1.9 tdi ATD engine. 52plate. 5 door hatch. Does any one know if my engine needs a tensioner pulley damper as euro car parts are showing two kits. One with and one with out. Also slightly off topic. My chassis code is 6y3. is that wrong.
  6. just seeing any one near Gatwick to help reset airbag light on my mk1 fabia. Obviously for beer tokens.
  7. I'm currently trying rhino diesel and it seems to improve my mpg from 51 to about 54 . Could be the slightly warmer weather improving mpg.
  8. yup break in the circuit. Mine was on the base. Take out seat cover and it should be obvious.
  9. Hello. I'm planning to do my front wheel bearings on my fabia. Just seeing if any one has the gen 2 wheel bearing kit that could help me change the bearing over. I've tried a few local vag specialist and for the price they want I may as well buy the tool my self. Any one local to Reigate surrey cheers.
  10. I've kinda got the same problem but mine sometimes get stuck on hot.
  11. Just a quick one. Has some one got a link what gearbox oil I need for my TDI 100 fabia. cheers
  12. Have a look at the back behind the engine . should see two pipes going into the bulk head. That's where I had my leak. Was only visible once my engine cooled down. Was a easy £1 fix.
  13. Cheers for the help guys. Took my belt off and the pulley is really wobbly. I can get a second hand alternator for £27 of ebay. Which is cheaper than buying the tool and pulley. Just wondering does the are the pd100 alternator same as other TDI such as golf and polo and even fabia VRS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JsjwLO3kK4
