I dont think that would work for me. Im acutually more hopeful about the next gen Tiguan which will be based on the MQB platform and which should also come with a plug-in hybrid option.

Nope ! The boot in a Golf GTE as well as in the Audi A3 e-tron is 100 litres smaller than in a standard Golf or Audi A3, and I think the possibility of a spare wheel under the boot is completely ruled out.

Would be nice to have a plug-in hybrid Yeti that could do about 30 miles in pure electric mode. However there would be a few challenges. Firstly they would have to find a place to put the batteries and this might eat into the baggage space. Secondly the battery pack and additional components needed would add a few hundred kilos to the weight of the car so you would need a relatively powerful petrol/diesel engine to compensate for the extra weight when running without the electric motor(s).

Here is my take on why I found the Yeti drivers seat uncomfortable. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/301781-se-seats-v-elegance-seats/?p=3600915 Im now quite convinced that for me the issue is the steering that cannot be pulled out enough. I tried the manual drivers seat as well as the electrical one and had the same problem with both although the electrical one was a bit better due to the possibility of tilting the seat independent of the height adjustment.

Completely agree with that. I did a side by side comparison of the standard audio system in the Yeti and the 12 speaker option in a Yeti L&K. I used my own CD with lots of different types of music and well recorded tracks. There was only a slight improvement with the 12 speaker option but not worth the extra money. I also listened to the Canton system in the new Octavia and compared it to the standard setup (again with my own test CD) and there I did find a marked improvement with the Canton and I would surely spend the extra for that one.

The norwegian brochure was even worse than that. They had wrong names for the alloys and upholstry dispayed in the brochure as well as missing specifications and spelling mistakes. The most blatant one was naming the Yeti L&K as the Superb L&K :-)

Ive just come accross a well-specced used Yeti in Bronze (or Terracotta orange as it is known elsewhere) and I was wondering how this colour looks in reality. Is it orangish or like copper colour? Ive searched the net and found a number of photos on this as well as other forums and in some Skoda brochures but Im in two minds. I guess it looks nice under some lighting conditions and not so nice at other times. This colour is very rare in general and I will have to travel quite a bit to see this Yeti in real life so I wanted to hear from people who have seen it in real life. Do you think it suits the Yeti well? Is there someone who has seen it in reality and hates it? :-)

I did a test drive of a Yeti (with a manual drivers seat) a few days back and I struggled to find a comfortable driving position. I am about 178cm tall and I think the problem for me might be that the steering cannot be adjusted in length as much as I need. With the steering pulled completely out if I adjusted the seat such that my arms were at a comfortable distance from the steering, my legs didnt feel comfortable as they didnt have enough space. On the other hand if I took the seat backwards so that my legs were comfortable, either I had to keep the backrest in quite an upright position so that my arms were at a comfortable distance. This was not too comfortable for my back. On the other hand if I tilted the backrest further back so that my back felt better then my arms had to be kept straighter all the time which was not comfortable for my arms. It seemed as if I could only get two parts of my body (amongst arms, legs and back) to feel comfortable simultaneously and not all three. Wonder if anyone else has also felt this way.

I took a long test drive in the facelifted Yeti (a 1.2TSI DSG) last week. It had the standard drivers seat and I found myself struggling to find a comfortable driving posture throughout the test drive. Maybe it takes a few days to get used to a new driving posture but I would certainly think seriously about the electrically adjustable drivers seat as I believe that gives more flexibility for adjustments and once you find your preferred driving position you can save it in the memory. In reply to the comment above, I did find the manual seat pretty firm too. The car was pretty new (done about 1500 km) so maybe the seats will be a bit softer with time??

Nice work ! Anyone know if the upper grill on the Yeti and Yeti Outdoor are interchangable? The grills seem to have the same outer frame, but the one on the Outdoor has vertical slats as compared to the slightly slanted ones on the non-Outdoor Yeti.

Agree with you to a big extent. However I think VW did a great job with the Tiguan facelift.

The info that I have from Skoda Norway is that the 1.2TSI now comes as standard with a lowered suspension and a ground clearence of 155mm (just like the 1.6TDI Greenline & Greentec versions). However the other FL Yetis have 180mm ground clearence as standard (on the Yeti & Yeti Outdoor). Another thing they clearly state that the Yeti Outdoor cannot be ordered with the 1.2TSI engine !

That was quite a useful reply. I think even though me and my wife might not have a problem getting into the sports seats as of now, there might be many occasions when regular seats are preferable (older folks, broader passengers, pregnancy, etc). I think the conclusion is that regular seats with electric controls is the way to go.
