Hi all just to let everyone know I did this on my y reg Octavia today and it's worked very well my actuator must had seized up cos it took a good few whacks with a hammer to free it

ive managed to get some from sainsburys.. im finding it difficult to get to the turbo though to be honest ive taken air feed piped off on top of engine and had car on ramps and still cant really get to it from underneath any suggestions .. do i spray it directly intio turbo or via an existing pipe ?

Can I use another cleaner like cilit bang no one seems to sell the Mr muscle foam anymore ??

Hi everyone I'm about to try this on my 2001 reg mine goes into limp mode nearly everyday but it also whistles a lot will this cut down on the whistling ?

Ah that's helpful thanks Id just assumed someone had took it out to trick the garage that there was nothing wrong with it I'll try and find the Mr muscle n see if that helps thanks

What's eml ? A mate of mine that works in a garage suggested spraying turbo cleaner into the inlet pipe would help I always thought if the vains got stuck Ya had to replace the turbo?

Hi guys I've recently bought a 2001 Octavia 1.9 tdi ambience I think my turbo is on its way out when I start the engine it sounds like a tractor for a few seconds the turbo whistles Abit. When it wants to it pulls like a train but a lot of the time when it gets to around 3,000 rpm it cuts out the only way to get the turbo to work again is to restart the engine . I have also noticed that the previous owner must of took the engine management light out because it doesn't light up on ignition ive read a few posts on here with similar issues and wondered if anyone could give me some advice a few people have said it could be the air flow sensor .. Forgot to mention I can hear a relay clicking at about 3,000 rpm aswell Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi everyone I've just bought a. 2001 Octavia diesel I think my turbo has either gone or severely on the way it's whistling quite badly and when not under load rattles abit a friend suggested it could be the shaft come loose and hitting the housing??? What I need to know is would I be able to change the turbo myself on the drive or is it a garage job as funds aren't brilliant atm Any help will be greatly appreciated

i always said id never ever ever!! buy a skoda but the octavia vrs really took my fancy so i did a trade in with farmers skoda in nottingham and i can honestly say i wish id of done it sooner had a few problems with dpf but they fixed it all for me
