  1. Is the modification not just a remap that any remap would wipe off anyway? Meaning if your car is already remapped then you might as well just leave it as it is?
  2. But, but, but those poor polar bears. I am so upset by this, I will never trust anyone ever again. I think the Nox put out by my car might have killed a few daffodils in my front garden, can i sue for that?
  3. Will skoda give me any compensation due to the fact i was unwittingly driving round in a car that was killing squirrels and polar bears for a couple of years? After all i might have deliberately bought the car due to its low emissions and now i might feel upset, violated and cheated.
  4. Bumped up seeing as its now approaching the time of year for these. they were initially advertised at totally the wrong time.
  5. I actally liked the look of my car with the steelies and no trims, especially when the car was dirty.
  6. I will be sticking a set of 16 inch steelies fitted with fallen eurowinter tyres up for sale very shortly. Loads of tread on them.
  7. i appreciate its the middle of summer but having sold my octavia I now I have no use for my winter wheels and tyres so i thought I would list them for sale now. I am in no massive hurry to sell so If they don't go quickly they can stay advertised until summer. Its 4 x 16 inch steel wheels ( 5x112 fitting) fitted with 4 x Falken Eurowinter HS 449 winter tyres in size 205/55R16 91H. None of the tyres have ever been punctured and the wheels are undamaged. As you can see from the photos all tyres have approx 7-8 mm of tread left so plenty of life left in them yet. The tyres were fitted to my mk2 VRS but will fit other VAG group cars with the same fitment. The tyres/wheels cost £450 plus new - I am after £200 ono for them. They are located in Consett, Co Durham for collection however i am happy to deliver within an approx 20 miles radius if a briskskoda member wanted them. adult photo sharing jpg images click image upload gifs upload
  8. Street racing of any sort is for buffoons.
  9. The main issue with removal might be that the bar will now form part of the structure of the car. Certainly when mine was fitted they removed and replaced the crash bar from behind the rear bumper, this was a fairly hefty chunk of metal about 4 feet long. You are probably best off leaving the bar fitted unless you can just remove the tow hook bit.
  10. About £200 ish and that was for 3 as far as i can remember, one on very bottom of front bumper, one on back bumper, one on front wing. Some of that might have been due to the tyres too which were all between 3-4 mm. The lad who inspected the car raised it as an issue until i pointed out they were well legal, he then consulted his boss who said as long a they were 3mm they were ok. I would have took £12800 from them to be honest so at £13005 after fees i didn't even bother to question what and why they had knocked off. I was prepared for any private buyer to knock 300-400 off anyway because the tyres were close to needing replacement. Wasn't really expensive motoring to be honest, cost me £220 a month including servicing during the time i had the car. Lot of car for that sort of cash really.
  11. Nope manual and none black line. I had a bit of interest privately from here and piston heads but then i got an email from wbac saying the price on my car had gone up for that weekend only. As theres an office just down the road I thought i would call in with the intention of just walking away if they took the mick and knocked a load off because i wasn't desperate to sell in a hurry. They didn't so I sold to them, hassle free, and to be honest probably for £200-300 more than i would have took as a private sale.
  12. I sold mine to wbac two weeks ago for probably a bit more than i would have taken for a private sale. A 13 plate vrs estate diesel manual with 19,000 miles. After they knocked a bit off for a couple of stone chips and took their rip off fee i ended up with £13,005 in my bank account. Fair enough really when i had it advertised for £13,295 for private sale and expected to be haggled down a bit.
  13. Focus st is another car that makes the octavia look poor value now due to the discounts that can be had. I am currently eating for a diesel st3 hatch with loads of kit- full leather recaro's, adaptive xenons, heated front windscreen, 8"nav screen with 10 speaker upgrade, bluetooth, auto dimming mirror, auto lights/wipers, keyless entry etc etc etc Even with metallic paint i am paying £21800, an estate would be about £800 more. Yes i know its not a big as an octavia but its a hell of a lot cheaper and with a lot more kit. The 250hp petrol version is the same price.
  14. Its also £500 more than my local ford dealer offered me for the car about 5 weeks ago against an st3 they were offering no discount on. I have ordered via drive the deal and my cost to change into a new st3 diesel with options will be approx £8800 when the ford dealer was quoting me £14k plus with the part exchange !!!!!
  15. I currently am not the owner of a car, cold my octavia vrs yesterday nice and early in preparation for getting a new focus st3 which i have on order I actually sold it to webuyanycar which surprised me to be honest as i thought i would never uses such a company. I had stuck my car into their site a few weeks ago to get a rough value however they emailed me on Frida saying the price had risen for the weekend. I had the car advertised and 13,295 privately and would have took 12,800 for it al day long in a private sale. Even after webuyanycar had knocked a little off their price for a couple of stone chips and taken their fee I am getting £13,005 in my bank. Maybe its not top dollar for the car but i got a cracking deal when i bought the car so worth taking it to avoid the hassle of tyre kickers etc. Doesn't work out too bad, I had the octavia 25 months and paid £18500 for it, the depreciation means it cost me £220 a month in the time i have it including servicing. this is good even in comparison to the great lease deals that are sometimes on offer, and a lot of car for that level of cash really.
  16. Well i have ordered a new car, A focus st3 diesel in metallic blue added a few options and the price is 21800 via drive the deal delivery estimated as june. I did consider a new octavia vrs but after speccing one up to the same level as the focus came to over 29k, even with the best discount i could obtain it was still 4k more expensive than the focus. Oh and the full leather recaros in the focus are ace! Looks like sometime soon there will be a mk2 2013 vrs estate in race blue for sale.
  17. Been thinking about changing cars now for a bit as i get bored easily and cars are the only thing i waste money on. My VRS estate was in for its second free service yesterday (The nice dealer did it despite me turning up a day late too) so i thought i would have a look at some other cars to pass the time when mine was in the service bay. Anyway i had a drive of a diesel Ford Focus st3 hatch yesterday and my local ford dealer. I was very impressed and after the drive and comparing the boots on the estate/hatch the mrs has convinced me i probably don't need the estate. theres plenty of room in the back of the hatch for our two labradors really and the boot lip isn't too high. The hatch should be a bit more refined anyway and a grand cheaper, the grand could then fund some top notch roof bars and cycle carriers. i currently use a tower bike rack on my VRS but a tower isn't an option on the ST. To be honest I probably would have ordered one yesterday but the dealer simply wasn't going to deal. He gave me a fair enough offer for a part ex but flatly refused to knock a penny off the ST other than the 1500 deposit contribution if i took a minimum of 5k finance(drive the deal says its 2500). Cheeky sod even added gap insurance and paint protection despite me specifically telling him not to. His cost to change figure was over 15k and he nearly fell off his chair when i told him it would need to be between 10-11k to put him close to a deal. I pointed out the prices displayed on drive the deal and he just said he couldn't match them or get close. Anyway I have sent an enquiry off to drive the deal and also on carwow if any favourable quotes come back i will probably order a blue st3 diesel hatch with nav and upgraded speakers very soon. The dealer was so far off the pace with his deal i could take a hit by selling my car to wbac and still be a few grand better off than the price he quoted,
  18. The valuations depend on whether your car is what they want for retail stock for one of their forecourts, If its not they will give a low price rather than say "we don't want your car" The prices they estimate for my 2013 vrs are fair i think.
