Pretty sure enyaq software doesn't support it yet either.

Infotainment hard reboot?
Hi all, My infotainment is driving me crackers. It's sooo slow to react. I'm sure it didn't use to be this bad! I've rebooted in the car by pressing and holding the power button but it doesn't seem to have helped. Maybe pulling the fuse will help, anyone know which fuse it is? A Google suggest fuse 19 but thought I would double check.

Sold - 2010 Octavia Scout 1.8tsi - Sold
They are "PRS44 - Whispbar Aero-X roof rail bars" according to the receipt but that was 10 years ago when I got them. They were awesome, went on and stayed on for 10 years with no issues.

Kodiaq wheels on a enyaq
Hi everyone, picking up my new to me 2022 vrs coupe next weekend (in green!). I normally run winter wheels on our family car which this will now be (replacing my trusty Octavia scout). Easiest to have. Spare set of wheels in the garage but enyaqs wheels are slim pickings 2nd hand. Anyone know if kodiaq wheels or anything else would fit? Looks like they are the right size. Thinking 19s to keep tyre price down, or even 18s. Thanks everyone!

Sold - 2010 Octavia Scout 1.8tsi - Sold
Sold - please archive! 2010 Octavia Scout 1.8tsi ~80k miles, 12 months MOT, service history, 2 keys - £2750 (Apologies better pictures to follow if it stops raining) Sadly selling my Black Scout, I’ve had this car since 2013 and it has been a brilliant family car for the last 11 years but I have decided to go Electric and have an Enyaq on the way. Officially I am the 3rd owner, previous 2 owners were in the same family (have the old V5 showing same surname and address). Car has been well loved by us and has an extensive service history (see below inc Haldex oil changes). Its got a full years MOT, has just been serviced. It had new front discs and pads just over 2000 miles ago. It has a detachable towbar (which has only been used for a bike rack and a very small camping trailer) as well as aero roof bars. 2 remote keys. Condition is generally good, interior is great with no major rips or tears just the usual signs of wear you would expect and a slightly squished drivers bolster). I’ve just put in some new mats (as the factory supply ones had just come to the end of their life). Exterior doesn’t have any major dents (just a couple of trolley type dents in the roof where I think the previous owner must have knocked it with bike racks or something, see pictures), but the passenger side has some light surface scratches where its got a bit too close to the bushes on country roads. There is a small paint chip on the boot lid, and some lacquer peel on the front bumper and a small patch on the bonnet. The grey trim I have tried to refresh best I can but it is looking a bit faded in places. From 10 feet the car looks great, up close it’s a bit easier to see the blemishes but it is a 14 year old car and I have priced it accordingly. Someone with time and skills should be able to make it look loads better with some time and effort. All 4 wheels were refurbished and powder coated a few years back, sadly one has a scratch and one has a bit of a corrosion spot around the valve but they are generally nice and tidy. It is a 1.8tsi so it does burn a little bit of oil. Depending on how you drive it it uses about 1l per 1000miles. Within Skoda norms, its always burnt about this amount of oil since I purchased it, and it doesn’t seem to have got worse in the last 65k miles. I run it on shell helix 10-40w so its always readily available in case you need to top up, it does have a low oil light when it gets to the low level on the dipstick which means you can’t accidently run it dry without lots of warning! (which I of course never have). Its been exceedingly reliable and only work outside of regular servicing has been a new thermostat housing and water pump in Nov-2023 which I believe is quite common on these (it didn’t overheat, I spotted it leaking). It also needed a new front OS caliper when it seized earlier this year (would seem my local garage didn’t grease the sliders when they replaced the pads a few months before, Grrr….). Just passed it MOT with no advisories and I think it only failed once for play in a drop link that was replaced immediately in 2019. Only advisories previously were for rusty rear discs which were replaced in 2022 (and were still the factory fitted items when replaced). Car has never been driven off road, never thrashed (the front pads lasted over 70k miles and the current tyres have done over 35k!) Car is located in Hemel Hempstead and is available immediately, price is firm at £2750 as its already priced cheaply for a mk2 facelift Scout. HPI and finance clear. Tax is £320 a year (or it was last year) and it is ULEZ compliant. I do have a set of winter wheels that could be included for an additional cost if required. (Its amazing in the snow with winter tyres on!) Service History: 17-Jan-12 – 9184 – Skoda 14-Jun-13 – 15858 – independent 4-Oct-14 – 24392 – independent 20-Jun-15 – Air con recharge 12-Jun-16 – 33984 – independent – inc Haldex oil change 5-Sep-17 – 43090 – independent 4-May-18 – 46816 – New continental tyres 24-Apr-19 – 53529 - independent 4-Dec-20 – 61531 – independent Sep-21 – New coils and spark plugs 16-Jan-22 – Haldex oil change and filter clean – by owner 26-Sep-22 – 69640 – independent inc new Rear Discs and pads 24-Nov-23 – New Water pump/thermostat housing (was cracked and leaking) 31-Mar-24 – 77423 – Oil Change by owner 18-Jul-24 77903 – New OSF caliper, Front discs and pads 14-Oct-24 – 78657 – independent

Restoring grey trim on a scout
I've had a go at the polish route but it still needs more work. Looks a fair chunk better though....

Restoring grey trim on a scout
Some of those deeper scratches have been touched up, they were white before. If you zoom in above the foglight you can see if white in the stone chips, looks like it's full of wax but that is based material, or at least white primer.

Restoring grey trim on a scout
Thanks. That's what I believed to be true but the amount of people who swear blind that they need heating and plastic trim restorer on them and they have done it before is astonishing. I had to give it a try! I already have a tin of of the correct paint in the garage!

Restoring grey trim on a scout
Just as a little follow up on this I decided to experiment on one of my foglight surrounds. I gave it a good clean and then tried heat. For the record heat did nothing at all. I've used heat successfully on plain plastic trim on other cars but here it was ineffective. So I then tried in patches Tyre gel Plastic trim reviver Black coloured wax (turtle wax) Normal wax Polish Polish and wax They all made it look better to varying degrees, so I then washed the trim again. The trim restorer washed off immediately, no obvious signs it was even there! The tyre gel was still doing something but not much and I suspected it would be gone after another wash or 2. The polish and normal wax had done well but it looked like the polish had taken off too much colour. The black wax looked good but you could see it hadn't quite covered so many imperfections as the polish and wax. So I tried combining a light polish and the black wax which seems to have come out really well!! Now to try on the rest of the bumper! Little nervous as there are some scratches and stone chips that may cause problems but it can't look much worse...

Has anyone ever managed to do something with the grey trim on a scout? Mine looks pretty yucky but I'm loathed to go at it with the polish just in case!

EPC light coming on under acceleration - MK2 Octavia 1.8TSI
Yes, very noticeable!

EPC light coming on under acceleration - MK2 Octavia 1.8TSI
Coils do go on these, had similar symptoms on mine but it did flag a code I think. I changed all 4 coils (I knew which one failed but I changed all 4 as a precaution) and it's been perfect since. As a side note the 1.8tsi does generally use oil, mine does and always has. It's not got any worse in 60k miles and 11 years so just be aware and ready to top up.

2010 scout random brake issue
Well it turns out I was completely wrong, left front caliper seized taking the disc and pad with it. A faulty speed sensor on rear near side found too but believed not to be related. Car all sorted now and driving great. I wonder how long it had been sticking, seems so much smoother and quieter now but I know that might just be a placebo.... Thanks everyone for your help

Don't like the sound of that much!

2010 scout random brake issue
Uncontrolled brake actuation was my gut feeling. I'll look into wheel speed sensors. Are they an easy job?
