  1. Thanks Mikey. I ended up just doing it as tight as possible with a breaker bar. It won't be falling off that's for sure!
  2. I had a nightmare claim with Direct line, this was most likely an unlucky and rare ocasion but the woman who dealt with my claim did not have 2 brain cells to rub together, I swore I'd never go back, but in fairness - they're all as bad as each other!
  3. Better pads will improve stopping performance but increasing the clamping force of the caliper and increasing torque by fitting larger discs is the only way to make a big difference. Also I would avoid EBC! As I do a lot of track days etc I tried many different pads and discs but was always left disapointed and felt the porformance increase did not justify the price. I've now fitted 6 piston front callipers and 335 x 32mm floating discs and now I'm happy .
  4. Beefing up the front brakes will be easy but if your able to put discs on the rear I wouldn't put your current front ones on there. The bias will be far to powerfull for the rear wheels. Think about the fact that more powerful front brakes make the back end even lighter when braking hard, so beefing up the rears will often result in locking rear wheels and causing ABS interfearence that will actually increase breaking distance. It's about getting the right ballance, you would be best looking into fitting a set of rear discs, hubs from a currently produced Fabia. Fitting large rear calipers (your current front ones) along with uprated fronts may also give you excessive pedal travel as the master cyclinder may need uprating to a larger CC.
  5. Looks like there is not much choice in that size mate. Found the Falkens cheap here, Never used them though but Camskill are excellent. 6. Hi guys, I've just changed a front wheel bearing on my Vrs and Jesus - the hub nut was seriously tight. Managed to loosen it with a 2 foot breaker bar with a scafolding pipe attatched. What torque should these be done back up to as the Haynes manual makes no sense :thumbdwn:. The quality of the haynes manuals is quite poor now I think. It mentions 4 stages. 1st - tighten to 166 lb foot 2nd - turn hub at least 90 degrees 3rd - tighten to 37 lb foot 4th - angle tighten 60 degrees. What were they smoking? It doesn't say but I'm guessing after stage 2 to nut should be loosened again? If so 37lb/ft plus 60 degrees does not seem tight enough compared to what it was. Please help.
  7. How long ago were the KW's fitted? If they've been on ages then rear beem bushes sound likely. If they are fairly new and KW variant 3's reduce the bump and rebound damping rates on the rear from the standard setting as they made my car feel very skitish at first when set wrong. Otherwise just slow down Waiting for every one to say "that's rich coming from the Nurburging barrier visiter!!" :sofahide:
  8. Cheers guys, I had just come back to this to tell you guys that bleach works and hey presto some of you beat me to it. 9. The reason I went for a bullet Cam was because your not allowed to film on the ring . Let me know how you get on and be sure to post any videos.
  10. Yeah I made a little bracket behind the drivers side bumper grill and fitted a dogcam sony bullet camera, only problem with that is it gives the impression that you miss every left hand apex. Recorded on a PVR but an SD card does not last long. Sony 580 HQ1 bullet camera dv500 portable surveillance video security recorder Unfortunately any quality is lost when it's converted to you-tube format.
  11. That's mine last year! It was a fairly crap lap compared to others to be honest.
  12. I'm really looking forward to seeing him drive again. Who knows how quick he'll be? Bring on the next race
  13. Try some Petes 53 wax. You'll get a much taller, tighter bead. This was taken about 2 months after aplication.
