Ah - I see. Yes, it's 36,000 in total. I've done 29,000 of those. Car is 4 years old. The drop is standard - I think it was 40 at the front and 30 at the back (?) I probably wouldn't use plastidip on anything that has it's face full on to the direction of travel, like thew mirrors, if you see what I mean. I originally did the Skoda logo on the front of the bonnet, but it chipped quite quickly and I ended up spraying it...which still chipped a bit. You can get chrome of carbon covers that stick onto your mirrors from superskoda if that floats your boat..

Pretty good. 36,000 miles, no squeaks or rattles. Just about to go in for it's second service. The only problem is that a crack has appeared in the plastic where my right elbow rests most of the time....

Two years on the plastidip is wearing pretty well, but starting to look a little tatty around the edges The worst bit is the rear passenger door a Quick refresh is in order A lot easier than putting the stuff on in the first place. Mask it up, spray loads onto the affected areas, and whip off the masking tape closest to the wet edge while it's still wet, and the result is really good. Tamiya yellow tape is really good for this. Did the whole car in under two hours.

I like that Leon...where are you getting it from? Thanks

New suspension to lower the car
guyblue10 replied to Jesse82's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hi I bought a Koni suspension kit from here http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/uprated/koni-sport-suspension-kits/skoda/superb.html They have other makes as well http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/performance/skoda/superb.html They didn't have them on stock, but Dan Garlick <[email protected]> was quick to respond to emails, knew the products and gave realistic delivery dates (they actually arrived sooner than promised) Guy -
Right - finished all the calipers in silver... And finally got round to spraying the washer bits black...
-
Thanks Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic of the copper - painted half of the very rear bit copper, half silver.....thought "nah" to the copper, and painted over it with the silver....

So a little bit of time in one of the first nice days of the year last weekend and I finally got round to the first of a couple of jobs I've been planning. I'm going to paint the headlamp washers the same colour as the car, but I've been toying with which colour to paint he calipers. I bought a tin of copper Hammerite and a tin of silver Hammerite. I bought copper because I thought it looked more gold than the gold, if you see what I mean. I painted the rear bit of the caliper half copper and half silver, to compare the two. The copper didn't look right, so I finished it with silver. 3 still left to do, but I thought I'd ask you lot what you think before I finish them....

Painting upper and lower front grill
guyblue10 replied to Solarstorm's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hi I've fitted the Superskoda grill bits to my 2012 Black Magic. Pics here - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/314532-black-36-v6-estate/ Guy -
I've done it - I mention it in the first post of my project thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/314532-black-36-v6-estate/ Unfortunately the ebay seller I used no longer exists, but you may be able to find someone to print a stick-on gel badge of your own design and size for a few quid, and literally a few seconds with a hair dryer and it moulded itself to the shape of the original domed badge and hasn't budged a year later Guy

Thinking about covering up all chrome trim
guyblue10 replied to josj's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Thanks You can get another plastidip product called glossifier that you spray onto the matt black plastidip that gives it a slightly glossy appearance. I played around with it but decided it looked better without. The key to plastidip seems to be to mask only where there isn't a natural groove or break in the surface - so if you think about the rear side window you need to mask where it touches the rubber, but not the lower edge because it falls into a dip - on the lower edge just spray the chrome and onto the paint, then peel off any overspray on to the paint.......having said that, only leave 1-2cm of paint exposed, then mask it - and spray a reasonable amount onto the paint - this will give you a clean edge to peel off, and a reasonable thickness of plastidip to peel off, because if you don't it'll break up and be difficult to peel off. Sounds a bit counter intuitive, but give it a try I also found flexible yellow masking tape used in model making gave a much cleaner curved line than the B and Q stuff. Also take off the masking tape while the last coat of plastidip is still wet - you'll get a much cleaner edge There are some videos on youtube done by a bloke called fonzi that are useful. It's all trial and error - probably took me a day working out on one or two bits how best to do it, and another day doing everything -

Hi I've plastidipped all my chrome bits http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/314532-black-36-v6-estate/ They've survived about a year with no sign of wear and will stand up to a reasonable pressure washing Guy -
Fab Thanks

That looks pretty good - could you give us more details - model number, how much, where etc? Thanks

Agreed - good luck -
Ha - yes, I'm not sure about the badges myself. I was looking at the washers today - any ideas how to get them to pop out and stay out so I can do something with them.....pull the indicator stalk and whip the appropriate fuse out at the same time....???

Thanks for the pointers Damo....About 20 self tappers and large flat washers seemed to do the job http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/314532-black-36-v6-estate/?p=3976934 -
Superskoda front splitter - and vRS badge (yes, I know...but it was getting a bit too black and needed at least a little colour....)

winter tyres & steel wheels. superb 3.6
guyblue10 replied to james0james's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Why don't you just buy another set of 18s? - There's always a set or 2 on ebay or on the for sale section here. Cost usually 200-250 ish. (That's what I've done for my 3.6) -

HI Damo My splitter has just turned up from Superskoda - appears to have about a dozen nuts bolts and washers as a "fitting kit" - the holes on the spoiler seem smaller than the bolts - had a quick grope around underneath the car and of course there's no corresponding holes to put them in. "No problem" I thought - I'll come and have a look at how you attached yours......but I've just reread the whole lot and you skipped over it quite quickly! Looking at it, it almost seems to be easier to use some self tappers to attach it......how did you do it? - any tips? Also ordered this which is a decent price and really nice quality - has rubbery back so it doesn't move around http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-II/Superb-II-Limousine-cargo-trunk-carpet-original-Skoda-Autoas And that man logic of adding more stuff to decrease the postage thing kicked in and I added this http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-II/Superb-II-Combi-rear-roof-spoiler-V1 Comes with a tube of glue to attach it! "Betalink K1" - have been googling it and it does appear that people like BMW use for attaching spoilers without additional fixings.... Thanks -
James from http://remyrocdetailing.co.uk/ came and sorted out my paintwork. I bought the car when it was 10 months, by which time it had been through a few mechanical car washes. Really pleased with the result

Hi There Google Translate doesn't seem to be very good at Dutch - is that a kit bought from a tuner or did he make some of the parts himself? Thanks -
Hi Dave Seller was http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/funplates2006 But it doesn't look like he's been trading recently
