  1. hello vRS passionates , need your inputs / feedback / source info for below. i just googled the complete discussions of AUM & AUQ engines for the difference being just the map. Please provide me some information, I am from India & have a mk1 Octy vRS with AUM 150 ps stock engine. I am exploring the option to get my car remapped with the AUQ stock map as the map from skoda will surely be tested & confirmed before release in comparison to a remap from custom map suppliers. need your valuable opinion & details regarding the same to hardware compatibility & map data. what is the best way to get the AUQ map as in India these things are little early in stage & normally not given a second thought for. extremely thanks in advance.

  3. what are the alloy specs ? i am too having a look at a similar 17's for my mk1 octy but i think 8j width with 38mm offset is a problem. is it the case ??
  4. guys, i have a query reagrding the alloy wheel & tyre upsizing for my 2004 mk1 Octavia vRS Indian model. (150 ps AUM). i am getting a very good offer for a set of MOMO Strike W8 17" 100pcd alloys with michellin Pilot sport 3 225/45/17 tyres. it has an offset of 38 mm. please provide me your views to opt for this considering we get only the 16" spider alloys as Vrs fitment in India. is it a good option to upgrade ? what are the pros n cons for this with respect to acceleration, hit on mileage, agility, handling, etc. most of you must have 17" alloys on your octy's., right ? as far as i know, the Michellin Pilot sports are very good in grip & stability. or is there any better option for these rubbers ? extreme Vielin Dank. in advance, http://www.ckcwheels.com/epages/63581487.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/63581487/Products/WSKA80738500 above is the link for the alloys.
  5. seems its of no use to hower aroundd this deal. not going for this car - deicided. but that does give me a lot of knowledge about the octy & its various parameters. thanks a lott guys. vRS love....... Always...
  6. thats a fair amount for work for the Gamble. as far as i know the car was kept parked in open garage for 4 years almost. still not received any pics but from the info received i am now a bit scared to calculate the amount of work the car may demand as i want to add this to my current fleet of 1 mk1 vrs & 1 mk2 vRS. to be a daily drive.
  7. welcome to the world of driving pleasure man... here starts the era of unending possibilities for modifications ......
  8. Hello Octy owners, posting after a very long time as i need a little help to decide on picking up a car. i am getting an offer for a very low mileage - just 1200 miles run 2007 mk1 Octy vRS (Indian version - AUM) for a tempting price which is approx 25% of the originial cost of a new car in India. On one hand it shows the car has not even run in & is as good as new. but considering it is almost 8 years old & must have been standing at one place for a long time in between runs, what call should i take ? also considering this situatiion if i will pick up this car, what all points are important to be checked for this car before picking it up ? As this engine - trans & overall mechanicals are almost as good as new, i am in favour to pick this car as a good base for mods. please help......
  9. Thanks mate. The official technical bulletin over here indicates that the parts will only be changed by Skoda India if there is a failure of its purpose of function. there are various cases of Superb engine changes done for the same reason. it even has a point of Engine change under goodwill warranty if the engine is seized.
  10. Hey, i am frm India & one of the very few who own a 1.8tsi mk2 octys here. sorry to pickup this little older topic but just explored that my Octy mk2 vRS engine is a 1.8 Tsi CDAA series with engine number - CDA203141. reading this post is making me concerned about it as its the same series which is prone to Chain slippage. can someone plese let me know what alll i need to check in order to be on a conclusion to change the tensioner or certain related parts to be on the safer side. it is as i have picked up my car in 2011 as just a weekend drive car with about 21xxx miles on odo as of now.
